  1. Past hour
  2. Ya i don't get it just salt the crap out of it and call it a day
  3. Without salt it just creates a thin layer of ice. I am convinced most DPW’s have no idea what they’re doing with. frozen precipitation.
  4. I had a little black ice on the driveway, but roads were fine here.....finally melted the ice off of my stairs from last week.
  5. Salt would have been enough. They did the same thing Saturday morning... plowing 0.5"
  6. Right...2-4" does so much to the morale. The 4" I got last week was perfect. It really sucks things haven't worked out as well in this pattern. You get 3-4 events which produce even 2-4" and they just add up quick.
  7. Becoming guardedly optimistic we get something here but we still have to watch over the next 24 hours given the chaotic pattern. Slight chance it amps a little more and can produce a 3-5” type event but overall it looks weak and more of a 1-3” deal. But it could still shear out because of the fast flow or be suppressed. We just have to watch.
  8. It kind of looks like the current -7 to -8 in NYC will finish closer to maybe a -2 to -3 range by December 31st.
  9. NWS currently has DC and surrounding areas around 2 inches. Just a little shift and we are in that.
  10. Had a 16.4 degree temp spike between 12:10 and 1:25am last night after bottoming out at 27. Pretty neat. Saw some flakes on the way in this morning
  11. For now we have spam, and they(pretty much everybody else around us)have prime rib…oh ya, I feel alot better now. All kidding aside, just hoping for a low end advisory event….to boost the morale some.
  12. Beautiful snow scene pic from my buddy's cabin up near the Tioga/Potter line this morning.
  13. It won’t be amped…it had its amped runs yesterday at 18z and 0z. Flat is where it will be imo. But it isn’t in its useful window yet(using that term very lightly).
  14. Well I guess if there is any consolation, it goes to show what we could have if we can get one of these to work out
  15. Thanks for making us feel better Paul…appreciate it.
  16. Speaking of fluff factor, there's going to be some awesome ratios within the Ohio Valley tonight. Might see upwards of 20:1!!!
  17. Our big town plow went by around 11:30PM (dog started freaking out). It had the blade down and was scrapingmaybe 0.5" of slush while treating. Making our road even worse
  18. I just want to say that you have a knack for taking pictures that captures the true essence of the season in which you're taking them. This is another beautiful shot.
  19. If I remember correctly, the eastern end of the storm produced heavy snow, and caused the Metrodome roof collapse. The Vikings game got pushed back, but it wasn't enough to save the Brett Favre streak.
  20. N'ah, the Wiggum storm is the Christmas Blizzard he promised us a few pages back. Just .20" yesterday. Currently 31F. Funny how it only got above freezing this week for a few hours when the precip arrived.
  21. Just migrated (digitally and physically) from the AmWx MidAtlantic forum and region, have been an AmWx member for 15 years...and these are some of the finest pics I've seen on AmWx ever. TY for sharing, and keep 'em coming. Obs-wise, was almost balmy in low 50s but windy last night before bed...still breezy at 42, guessing that cold front is still trucking through.
