  1. Past hour
  2. I know it’s 15° in the Triad with a windchill factor of -1°, but it just doesn’t feel THAT cold to me. Cold, yes, but not that extraordinarily cold. I think we’re getting acclimated to the cold this winter.
  3. 3k and hrrr have done terrible for my yard last 3 runs. I'm over 2" otg and if hasn't stopped snowing since I got up this AM. Had several hours of light/non accum snow between 11am-2pm but it's picked back up the past hour with vis under 1mi.
  4. 1000%. And not to mention, these top 5 cold anamolies are coming during what is already the dead of winter. Mid January to mid February is a time when every weekend has a winter themed festival somewhere in the area and a few of them canceled because of the cold! Canceling a winter festival because of cold lol. Locally its been the blue ribbon combination of above avg snowfall, above avg snowcover and below avg temps. Its been solid deep winter since late November with the exception of Christmas week and the 2nd week of January. While not as cold or nearly as snowy as 2014, there are multiple similarities despite the scoffing that was done by some when it was mentioned as an analog. Mountains of snowbanks everywhere, thick ice on local lakes and Great Lakes ice coverage nearly twice what it should be to date. Looking far away from here I see another winter storm hitting the deep south. This will be the 2nd winter in a row myrtle beach gets a 5" snowstorm.
  5. Western side around Indian Boundary/Rattlesnake Rock has to be getting blasted right now
  6. You must be immune to the downsloping. Marion and most of greater McDowell is just flurries now
  7. The worst thing for Raleigh is there won't be a makeup storm either for this. These don't come around everyday.
  8. I'm in Smithfield, NC in the heart of the dry slot. Sigh.
  9. Sitting at about 4" on top of our 4" Ice sheet. Still light snow falling 14.5F
  10. Talking to one of the older county plow drivers who just came off Coker Creek. Last time he remembers it snowing that hard up there was '93.
  11. I think Raleigh is going to be cut in half. I’ve got quarter sized dendrites falling right now and 0.5” already. .
  12. I am seeing a few flakes now. Lets hope the SREF is right
  13. Looks weak on radar but this is my heaviest batch of snow since noon
  14. soooo jealous of wifey.. shes in Jacksonville NC visiting family and they are getting crushed!
  15. Look at raleigh/durham though
  16. This “final” band is still strengthening down here before it pulls east. Approaching 10in. .
  17. May see snow later tonight from the bound of precipitation from middle Kentucky .
  18. Definitely a snowband feeding off Tellico Lake/River...rates will back off a few mins, but pick right back up. Still heavy snow falling.
