If we can keep this up for an hour, I should be able to hit 3 inches which will get me to my season average or a little over. Even though this storm isn’t a big deal it’s kind of fun and definitely helping the baseline of my winter grade. Also, roads are terrible already. Lol.

Yeah, it's absurd the amount of excess crap that gets spread for every little event. We joke at work up in Harrisburg that the river up that way turns brackish during the winter from the amount of salt the capitol complex maintenance staff drops everywhere at all times. And when I say dump, I mean literally just piles all over the sidewalks, often for absolutely no threat of winter weather at all. I'm sure @canderson can attest to what I'm saying. It's not the preparation that gets me, it's the excess use of the stuff. It's ridiculous.

Really ramped up quickly. Low visibility, heavy snow and great snow growth. The zones didn’t have this getting going till 4 o’clock. At this rate, we’ll have 2” by 4 o’clock.

yeah, especially this one... If I were going to use 2-m temp to reflect where my estimation of the snow retreat was, it would like just like this. It's probably estimating the snow pack in the first place, but relative to that - Notice Watchusett and ORH AP elevations are warmer? that's snow pack inversion with those els poking out.

I found those sharp gradients interesting too… like the model couldn’t figure out if it’s fully mixing or not from one location to the next. Figured snowpack was impacting those 2-m outputs.
