  1. Past hour
  2. I meant that the intent coming into this season was to contend --and signing Helsly was supposed to be THE move to secure our closer. Before the second half of last season he was dominant--so it should have been s good signing. This was just unlucky, imo And tbh...I'm not sure we have any closers in the making among the arms in the bullpen. For a little while I thought Garcia may be, but obviously his start was a fluke. And we are in a worse position now because we don't even know if Bautista will even pitch again...meaning we gotta find another closer.
  3. Same. And wasting time bantering about the Orioles lol. Bring on training camp!
  4. Yes, between the consistent gusty SSW wind and the smoke, it's the most uncomfortable fire weather in the Denver Metro since the Black Forest fire several years back. The Aspen Acres fire has doubled in size in 24 hours, now just shy of 48K acres per Watch Duty (which is an awesome website).
  5. 89/74. Temp has been slowly but steadily rising, especially after about 9:30 pm. Was as low as 84 shortly after sunset.
  6. Nice first post. The Orioles signed Alonso with the idea that they would be in contention and he could be a piece to help put them over the top. As it turns out, that doesn't appear to be working out. He would have to be willing to be traded, but lets say he is. Maybe after being a member of the disastrous Mets last year, he now sees a similar situation here at this point. Given how disappointing the Orioles have been for the better part of 2 seasons, the lack of progression of several of their core players, and the likely prospect of losing some of them to FA in the next 2-3 years, why is this so far fetched? Trade a vet to a contender, dump some salary, get a couple good young players in return. Will it happen? Most likely not.
  7. Just got home from the brewery and sipping a whiskey. Fun night except for a few dolts. Go USA!
  8. Heavy rain, continuous thunder. Just constant booming, driving the dog into an anxious mess. A couple solid nearby cracks, deafening. Strobe lightning in this tropical air mass. This rainfall is intense, too.
  9. The line hasn’t even entered NH yet and it’s continuous “heat lightning”
  10. It was 95 at 130 in downtown bryson with 100% humidity! Brutal working conditions
  11. All teams are trying to win. If by "trying to win" you mean "in contention" are the orioles really that? Now might be a good time to see if they have a closer in the making. That guy was at best a stop gap, and a pretty expensive one at that.
  12. Trading Alonso at this point, c'mon. I've followed this forum for a while and you like to gas up but this is bait. I just recently had to log on cause of the site disruption, first post!
  13. I can vouch for this as well. Northeastern AA Co especially due to the orientation of the Severn / Magothy Rivers. The same goes for places such as Middle River up to Aberdeen with southerly winds. Edit: It's 87/78/100 at 11pm in College Park with SW winds coming from the DC Heat Island... Blehhhhhhh
  14. What a light show! Just nonstop cloud to cloud lightning. A few good gas so far, lots of rolling thunder
  15. Just spent 3 hours outdoors at a World Cup watch party. Despite sitting all that time I’m completely drenched in sweat. This humidity is no joke.
  16. Another warning here well in advance of the line. Let's see how this fails.
