Richmond Metro/Hampton Roads Area Discussion
Deep Creek replied to RIC Airport's topic in Mid Atlantic
Agreed. I remember lots of 70 degrees growing up in Hampton Roads with rain to snow from a frontal passage, but never this drastic. Pretty cool. -
Lots of virga or at least intensity levels much less than implied by radar in this area...

80 Degrees to Ripping Snow: March 12th
dailylurker replied to SnowenOutThere's topic in Mid Atlantic
That was humbling. So, it can snow and accumulate a few hours after it's been 75 degrees the entire night prior to the snow starting the next day around noon, in the middle of March, with a temp above freezing. My grass is covered and the trees are hanging heavy with snow. Wtf lol -

Ah yes, right across from the Conewago Trail where my wife and I often walk. I know exactly where you were. -
There is 0 irony there. One needs to think and start to understand more intimately, the rudimentary knowledge and associations about how these geological system work. When you doubt ... from a position uneducated, the information and raw data that is coming from that type and scale of sophistication, just keep in mind that the same scientific processes you doubt are how and why you can even type doubts on your phone or pc

Probably gonna go with .1" in DC to match DCA... 1" in NW Arlington? My family's photos didn't look as impressive as @MN Transplant's. Guess I'll see what spotters have to say. -

Can you imagine leaving for work in the morning with temps in the mid 70s and then driving home in full-on winter driving conditions 8 hours later? -

I'll give props to winter for taking another swing after some 80 degree days, hopefully not the last swing and hopefully the next one at night. A RedSky special indeed.... -
