Much obliged. Perhaps he meant that it was above freezing for an extended period before the lows for the day were reached.
-
Splitting hairs here but it was actually snowier when I look... .

Sorry of my life. Anytime it’s going to snow even moderately I get calls with THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!! YOU WILL THIS CRAP ON! To which I ask these insufferable pelle the same question: The country is 3000 miles x 1500 miles thick. If you live here and hate winter, that’s on YOU. Go. Somewhere. Else. Into CT grading to NYC. -

Hrr is a blizzard! 12" here -
Chuck em far and wide

yes but.... not this close in.... 6-10 is not a crippling storm. there is a big difference here between the run of the mill 6-10 and a crippling 2 footer 24 hours out.... .

I’m starting to feel like I may be in play here

Interstate 83 seems like a good place-marker for double digit snowfall at this point from what I’m seeing on models. East = yes and West = No -
-
Watch these meso models now to see how this starts to evolve. These closer in tracks with a track to inside the BM will up the ante.
-
Nah. Too subtle and I haven't bothered to look. All comes down to exactly where low sits and spins.

Manhatten these days is the Heat Island - in a world of its own - concrete jungle - much different than during the Blizzard of '88

Yea it’s odd especially considering the NWS forecast is for 13-18 around the City proper.

Richmond Metro/Hampton Roads Area Discussion
eaglesin2011 replied to RIC Airport's topic in Mid Atlantic
Nah I’d say Wakefield is pretty confident now in the Richmond area that this will be a miss for this area..The surface temps are just to warm here to get a 4+ snow into this area .. Need a heavy band to hit the area before it starts to pull away .. or if it explodes enough early that we get some wrap around & backfill bands coming through.. Unfortunately both are long shots for the RIC local area especially west.. -
6-10 is enough to be considered a big storm to the public, so if they keep adjusting upward to game time it doesn't look too bad, but it also gives them room to say we never bought those crazy model runs would verify if the storm ends up like the Euro. .
