Late February/Early March 2026 Mid-Long Range
Weather Will replied to WxUSAF's topic in Mid Atlantic
Open a new March thread and make it happen! -
Light sleet 35/27. We've a light coating of new sleet / snow. The driveway is crunchy underfoot, but not slippery.
-
what's even stranger is who is advising them to close or dismiss? Was happy our super went with a regular day here-they usually don't do that and jump on board with all the other ones making the wrong decision....

Central PA Spring 2026 Discussion/Obs Thread

Can't believe that the ground is still that cold, despite some of the recent days that were very warm. There are spots on some untreated roads that are iced over. And there are some schools that canceled classes for the day. My lane is solid ice. And temp is still at 32 @11:04am. -
Honestly don’t understand how CT does that shit. Any salt on the roads during March daytime is totally fine with this setup. Good God.
-
LOL
-
I saw that, never heard of it before, glad we homeschool and don't have to worry about those things anymore....kids were doing their school during the raging blizzard last week, lol
-
We have an “emergency early dismissal” now lol
-
This is what my district does, but we still have a full February week. I’d still rather start and finish later.
-
Wunderground uppping totals still. 5” now.

Rain and Sleet since ~930am

Big concern for me on Friday is potential for Frz Rn. This past weekends bitter wx has allowed the western half of the Lake to become ice covered again. Winds are mellow until Thurs, when an E/NE wind starts to kick up. With icy waters, and warmer air aloft, the shore could see a decent icing, depending on precip amounts. Temps will be borderline.
-
Honestly don’t know. Sure not every day is blue skies and sun, but I don’t see it raining every day.
-
NWS forecasting 3” here. Guess that means I can expect 1” based on recent ratios.
-
27.1/20 off a low of 10 this morning, decent snow growth, coating so far

More redevelops and moves in from Ohio and western PA this morning

radar is garbage to the west-looks like it might end too by about 1-2pm (For awhile at least)-not much in PA
-
Labor day was early this year-so later start this fall. They've added Eid here but we are still out by about 6/10 or so which isn't bad. Never understood why a full week is needed in some places in Feb 6 weeks after winter break-maybe ski industry lobby?

Good snow growth
-
True. But the point was nothing looked like what he was saying.
