  1. Past hour
  2. Reminds me of Jan 13th 2019... just not nearly as much.
  3. Looked ok. I‘D be happy with an inch or two.
  4. 21z HRRR might be the first run of the HRRR such that the entire storm is within its run. And dare I say the heavier precipitation is more north than 18z.
  5. I guess not, lol But you being south does give you better nina climo, wouldn't you say? You don't have to miss the southern sliders (or even the front end of Miller Bs?)
  6. Have to move down to Richmond where there's real snow these days.
  7. 37 here at my house on the border of Hawkins/Hamblen Co
  8. we're seeing two amazing trends happen in tandem with our energy. 1. our shortwave is trending slower/deeper than cams initially anticipated. take a look at the hrrr trend over OK with our shortwave. 2. our midwest vort that digs and raises heights is digging more than expected over nebraska and looks more consolidated. these two trends (can't paste gifs bc of the file limit, unfortunately) should help lift our storm more north than expected. feeling very optimistic about this one, our only fail mode is really something that's just dissipitating as we get closer. more boom than bust potential with this one imo, especially near the metro.
  9. Squalls passed to the south, only a few flakes here, but wind is noisy and temps diving. Might go subzero tomorrow morning, would be the season's earliest since 2019.
  10. First time checking the board this winter as I didn't wanna jinx anything. Worst case scenario it seems like NOVA gets flakes in early December, I'll take that and run!
  11. We may get the rare full moon amplification out of this
  12. Just finished a final cut of the grass at a proper 2” and got the last of the leaves up. Snow can now fall on a perfectly manicured carpet. Beautiful moon rise and a crisp 36/22 at 5:10 in Haymarket.
  13. For those on Team Snow or at least Team Cold the below from meteorologist Steve Dimartino should make you happy. "The Ensemble guidance today is showing the weather pattern I've been talking about since September. I think interesting times are ahead. What that means for your backyard snowfall, I don't know. However, I do know that this is one of the most favorable weather patterns I've ever experienced in December in a decade."
  14. Snow is probably an overstatement. More like flake currently, but I've got hope.
  15. If this trends better over the next couple days, and it ends up raining here, that might send me over the edge
  16. We're really scraping to find snow...lol. That map is just sad. Cold one coming up tonight...
  17. Obviously that track is not quite perfect, but I like that this could be well-timed with that secondary push of Arctic air early next week.
  18. Cold, snowy start to Winter keeps the flies away
