OMG the noise can be creepy AF. Been on many frozen lakes in the north county, and even crossing on a snowmobile, you can hear growling under you. Once you see an ice heave emerge you understand why. Spoooooky. Especially at night. Earthquake growls and yes you can feel them.

I would think anything over an inch of snow Friday night is gravy. It would be nice to get a refresher because the Greenfield winter carnival is this weekend.

Perhaps the fluffiest flurries I’ve ever seen currently coming down in lower Manhattan.

Never want to hear about snow in Methuen or Moosup ever again.

Grand Rapids was 20.2F (-4.6F), precip 3.76" (+1.24"), and snowfall 39.4" ("16.8"). Lake Michigan and the frequent LES certainly helped with the monthly precip and snowfall departures.

We definitely take 12z GFS for mid month. Days and days?

Finally hit 32 around 10:30 am this morning. First time since January 23 when I had a high of 37 (10 days). The leftover glaciers on the edges of streets are treacherous though, as well as the huge plowed mounds on the street corners. Currently sunny and 35 after a low of 21, with dp 20. I did see the full moon early this morning through some "snow clouds", so that cloud deck did keep it from bottoming out. -

Warmth has been muted a couple times this winter already so we hope that continues. I remain skeptical though as the Pac gets worse but of course…we just don’t know what will happen. -

I'm down at least a half foot on the yard level. huh

It makes lots of noise too. Definitely a little spooky. Nice to be on skates so you can move quickly. But there’s at least 6” of ice on the whole bay so it’s very safe.

Skating on crystal clear black ice is super intense when you can see water and weeds below you.
