My big win is that I haven't had to create the 2026 Severe Weather Discussion thread yet. We've done it as early as December for the following year before - but generally seems to average out to mid-February lately (always a pesky dynamic system threatening to give us a pencil thin and low topped squall line). So if nothing else - seems we are still "wintry enough" to not need my annual installment. Whew.

I know the Tahoe area gets some beast storms, Jebman. Do you know where the heaviest hourly rates on earth are recorded? There's a little town on the Tug called Copenhagen. It's on the upper Tug near Montague where I'm moving. They recorded an hourly snowfall rate of 12" per hour. When i was there in early January I expected 6-8" per hour rates several times for extended periods of time. You can come stay with me for free.

And, as was the consensus here yesterday, despite that 2.5 I measured this morning, by 2PM there was still less snowcover in my estimation than there was 24 hours prior. it was gone from whatever grassy surfaces it had accumulated on that much, and in had receded beyond where it was yesterday.

The KDIX outage is a bit concerning. Went offline 11 days ago and the latest message says they were unable to troubleshoot. Thank god we have TPHL as a backup even if it’s lower resolution.

That would be the perfect snowstorm. This week can then be used to continue melting whatever foulness is left as well as attempting to shed a couple lbs (I’ve gained an easy 10 lbs this winter lol).

It seems like the correctional vector with this has been pointing toward suck.
