Significant portions of the West are record warm and snowless to date for this winter season. It is not unreasonable to describe that as a bigger weather and perhaps climate story than a somewhat cold and somewhat snowy winter in some parts of the approximately eastern third of the country only that is for the most part not record breaking. If you only care about the weather in your own backyard, cool. But if you’re genuinely interested in the weather and climate, then the superlative status of the winter in much of the West presumably would be something you’d deem worthy of attention. It is a major weather-related issue at the present with real and lasting repercussions for the environment and economy in a large portion of the country.

I've measured 8.6" just west of Eden. Snow has tapered off to just a few light flurries, so this will likely be the final storm total. 16.0°/14.1°

He was referencing the wrong Tinicum Twp (I’m in Bucks NOT Philly’s Tinicum) per my previous post‼️ I also did some cross reference poking around in other weather boards and saw similar readings to mine very close in NJ… We radiate here like the NJ pine barrens with the right conditions‼️

Triangle folks it looks to be retreating pretty quickly. I think it’s about all she wrote. You Fuquay guys really did end up being the least in the state based on radar. I remember some of the hi res models having a literal hole in SW Wake or somewhere very close to it on many runs. Pretty incredible really.

After how much Snow I got from this storm, and having to deal with the Ice storm exactly one week ago from today. I think I’m good on winter storms for the rest of the year. They’re only fun for me if you have deal with a good one once per year.

I think so. It’s so windy it’s hard to tell. It’s been a surprise to see the storm unfold like this. We are so use to busting. But we had everything we needed. The only hold back was the dry air. Once that was pushed out it was game on. If this keeps up a few more hours. 4-5 inches could be the total here.

Popping in from the SE forum, that dry slot was absolutely horrendous today. I’ve got an inch on the ground here in Cary (SW Raleigh metro) maybe 1.5. Absolutely crushing watching everyone around getting 6-8+. One person in our forum even got 6” 15 miles to my east in a heavier band. Would’ve much rather been in y’all’s shoes. Good luck on the one Thursday.

It really is tough to get the right combination of cold and gulf moisture together consistently.

Just came in from outside and have roughly 10 inches. Crazy. Some places well over a foot. Others four inches. Just because of the wind here. But it's been ripping and we're going to get at least four or five more inches. So it's going to be really hard to pinpoint the exact snowfall

looks like a cold chasing moisture setup to me. Maybe a hit for NE NC like usual in these setups
