2025 Lawns & Gardens Thread. Making Lawns Great Again
backedgeapproaching replied to Damage In Tolland's topic in New England
I would stop the tilling. You are bringing up more and more weed seeds every time you till. At this point just try to level the lawn as best you can, it might be hard without machinery to get it mostly level without bumps. I would seed, but just FYI you are going on have to water alot to get it to survive through summer. You will definitely have alot of weeds coming up with the grass seed too that you will have to tackle along the way or after the grass is established. There are certain fertilizers you can use at seeding that also help prevent weeds from germinating(it won't stop them all). -
What’s 25° between friends? It’s 51° here.

76 right now.

Yeah seems like it. Glad you got a good one.

Improved drought status from all the recent precip we've had up my way. We'll see if we can at least maintain that in the coming weeks. Doesn't look like much precip in the forecast/models for my area. I'm expecting better potential late May into June for some heavier stuff.

Happy Birthday! I think the front sagged a bit farther south/east than guidance had early on and you had the prime differential heating boundary from SE NY and points northeast. Pretty good CAPE gradient too. Was able to maximize on the steep llvl lapse rates
-
Received .19" from overnight showers. Two day event total = .51". Need more but something is better than nothing and the ground is at least somewhat primed for anything heavier over the next 1-2 days.

I think by Wednesday we will all be tired of rain...
-
Hour 55 sure. We all get a soaking tomorrow night.
-
Yeah the trajectory looks west. Likely just some sheet drizzle in the marine layer east of the city. We have seen this show before.
-
3K NAM crushes us all
-
Models seem to have the rains to our south and west not really hitting NYC east. Maybe they'll be wrong, we'll see.
-
The breaks have moved north and deeper / darker clouds moving in from the south. Rain and showers into SNJ
-
Big rain amounts gonna be W MA W CT to ENY. Meh east of there
-
.57 here today so far. Nada yesterday. Linkin Park?
-
0.87" tropical downpours
-
Brutal gradient so far. Basically a T along the west shore of the Bay to 1-3” in MoCo and NoVA
- Today

That slug of rain in S NJ may be a problem - NAMS coming in very wet for many here
