  4. wow that was a lot of rain on July 31, 1996-- over 3.5 inches at JFK, what happened Don? I remember Bertha from July 1996 but that was much earlier in the month!
  5. Yes my best summer since 2010. But even in 2010 we did not have any 7+ day heatwaves from what I remember, but it was my hottest summer for 90,95 and 100 degree days. 32/11/3 in that department!!!
  6. It was an ugly day but a great stretch is upcoming for everyone.
  7. I suspect the changes in Atlantic and Pacific SSTAs have played a role in influencing synoptic patterns and their durability. Out in the Southwest, heat now locks in for longer durations. Heatwaves are more variable in the East (probably a combination of the patterns + wetter climate). Central Park notwithstanding, the region is having a hot summer so far.
  8. Damn, those storms appear to have hit a brick wall in mid-Nassau.

  10. Pretty nice little heat wave. I thought it was gonna be more humid. Could've been worse.
  11. If you are throwing meat or wrappers that had meat in them.. put that outside in the bin . Don’t ever leave inside. Ours I can quite figure out. This is the 2nd time in two weeks . Tonight was awful. Three of us with fly swatters, paper towels and Windex to clean the windows
  12. Accuwx apps in May showed highest temps of summer of 81!. They believed it could be
  13. Not a drop and I probably could have walked 1/5 miles either side at one point and hit rain. I figure this is nature easing me into getting 0.10" tomorrow Sent from my SM-G970U1 using Tapatalk
  14. Yawn, and probably greater than 50-50 chance that tomorrow into Fri is more yawn while north and west gets soaked again. At least the heat goes away after today and we have a nice weekend.
  15. My car therm said 99, not sure how accurate they are but it was miserable out there today, even the dog didn't want to go out.
  16. Yup. It’s 86/73 and we can’t buy a storm. Incredible
