That makes sense and thank you for the kind reply. I know it’s still in fantasy land but just trying to understand people smarter than me in this forum. Haha. Really hoping we can squeeze Xmas in behind a frontal passage. The ensembles don’t look to bad so we’ll see I reckon.

Big fat flakes coming down here currently. Closing in on an inch.
-
Ended up with 2.5" My yard was just far enough east to get into the better bands. Unfortunately a big drop off just west of me.
-
11.6" so far, temp 13.3. Snow is total fluff now and continues to accumulate rapidly. Very little wind. Nice event after the blizzard bust from earlier in the week.

Winter wonderland with the initial wet snow plastered on every surface. 6 am measurement was 3" with temp 32. Currently SN and fog, with temp now below freezing at 31 and dp 31. -
Was a clear concern of mine and some others yesterday, when temps ahead of the system overperformed... Got a more amped system with less positive tilt for more QPF, but the layer of warmer air just stayed in place longer. Having said that, all surfaces caved around midnight. Eyeballing 2.25-2.5" now in waretown. Looks to be piling up now with the heavier rates. Had the temps been just 3 degrees cooler at onset, I think this would have overperformed for nearly everyone. Nevertheless, I think ill see 4-4.5 when all is said and done, which is well within the forecast. Beautiful day. Enjoy, all.

Snow was heavy from the time I got up around 5. Just started lightening up. Some north breezes mixed in to blow around a bit in the band. Hovering at 33 so its basically slushy. Driveway and sidewalks are done for though. Not sure when it started but the sidewalk went from clear to caved in under 15 minutes. Happy Sunday yall!

If it went in other direction, we would be in the early stages of a 02-03 type Winter That one week move was incredible! We might have to consider that the consensus is now for a warmer Jan-March. If it's not, NG will rebound. -
No front yet. Still 44 with little to no wind. .

It’s nice to see North America doing better than Eurasia on snow extent for a change. https://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/smcd/emb/snow/HTML/snow_extent_monitor.html

Last night's Euro was, but that's still 264hrs away, which is still too far away to be certain. Imho, it'll all come down to whether Christmas ends up being a day, more or less, before or after a cold frontal passage.

snowman did do a good job of pointing out that it was a La Nina pattern in the Summer and Fall, being -AAM. This is a massive -PNA, a Strong La Nina pattern: https://www.meteo.psu.edu/ewall/ENSHGTAVGNH_0z/ensloopmref.html -
Moderate, borderline heavy snow, 32, about 0.5" in Easton, everything is covered

It was legit! Hope it makes it up there.

4.5” OTG and coming down nicely (moderate pace), looks like bonus area was N/W of originally thought. Look to end between 5” - 6”. Looks beautiful outside with everything pasted in deep white.

Maybe a 1/4" or so when I came down at 6:00 with crappy flakes. Roads appear wet. High moon angle this time of year.
