  1. Past hour
  2. September 16-30, 2006 had a mean temperature of 66.6, which was slightly above even the 1991-2020 baseline for this period.
  3. Everytime you guys bring up 95-96 I just cringe. I mean its 30 years ago and I was 12...and there have been many amazing winters since...but 95-96, just gross lol (except for the Mar 20 storm).
  4. @Itstrainingtime called it - feels like summer. 82 and pretty muggy.
  5. Interesting how apparently 1828 was a super hot summer.
  6. A couple fall noreasters would wipe out that drought map...
  7. wowzers that Sunday threat vanished. awt
  8. I'm pretty sure 2006 had a colder than normal first half and second half of September. It also had a colder than normal first half and second half of October. Then, things really flipped and we had record warmth from November through the first of January 2007 (before the bottom fell out of the thermometer in February 2007).
  9. It's a perfect 70° day on 19w at Project 9 on the Cane River...perfect for setting rafters! Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk
  10. I would add a historical ramification ( possibly by design ...? ) It would keep the populous in the dark; ignorant and less informed people are typically more tolerant of manipulation for the simple fact that they don't know or suspect any better. Either planned, or just a very fortunate precursor roots to eventual Stalinistic exertion. Communism probably found its root suppression zeitgeist through that passage, to become all but cheered on by acceptance.
  11. The east coast, from the mid-atlantic up to the northeast is very quickly going into full on drought conditions again. Been dry as hell since August 1st. Shades of last fall
  12. Looking at the stats, Septembers have definitely been running warm recently. Since 2010, only 2011 and 2020 have been below normal. October has been more of a mixed bag. 2023, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2013, 2012, 2011 were all below normal.
  13. Today
  14. I never really compared those winters so I don't know without looking into it.
  15. My lawn just got loaded, seed tomorrow, should be a good time to do it.
  16. There was no mention of the site change in your initial post about DEN 90+ days "exploding", which is why I pointed it out. No one has said the frequency of hot days hasn't increased here and elsewhere in CO. It's important to make that distinction, because you keep coming back to it as if that was challenged.
  17. I wasn't arguing. Just adding context to the DEN 90+ stats.
  18. No changes to the Drought Monitor this sub forum. With the rain last week, cool temperatures and lowering sun angle not as critical as it would have been back in July and August. Drought intensified / expanded over New England.
  19. Not my favorite but manageable. This cool run has been great though.
  20. China is making the turn toward cleaner energy, as are some of the other countries cited. Better sources of energy exist. The problem is not technological. It's political. Unfortunately, because fossil fuel interests are so entrenched in U.S. society, the United States has chosen to double down on outdated fossil fuel energy. The U.S. will wind up falling behind in terms of energy and possibly a much wider range of fields that utilize energy due to its decision to stick with higher cost, dirtier energy sources. It won't be the first society to bet big on yesterday's technology. During the 15th Century, as the printing press started spreading throughout Europe, Russia chose to reject it. As a result, Russia fell behind in terms of literacy and the creation/dissemination of scientific knowledge for centuries. The end result was slow modernization. Even contemporary Russia is far from a truly modern state. Its economy is largely based on natural resources and little more. It maintains an imperial world view. In short, bad choices have bad consequences.
  21. I wonder if the clouds will burn off today
  22. Looks summery weekend and next week...all forecasts low 80s at least
