  1. Past hour
  2. Have had some interesting interactions with weather "technology" this week at high school sporting events. Monday night the school we were at had a Thor Guard system still turned on while their new Perry Weather system was also active. The Perry Weather alarm cleared the stadium about 8 minutes before the Thor Guard sounded. 30 minutes later the Thor Guard sounded the all clear while the Perry Weather system had reset it's 30 minute delay twice and still had around 20 minutes to go. The Thor Guard never sounded again, but the Perry system reset it's 30 minute clock 2 more times. Total delay was over 70 minutes and there were two visible CC lighting flashes which didn't set off the Thor or reset the Perry. Last night at another school there was visible CC lightning in the distance. The referees wanted to clear the field but the school's AD was on site and said their warning system indicated the game could continue. Lightning continues west and north of the stadium. Then a CC lightning just east of the stadium flashes. Referees clear the field, and the school's warning system never sounded.
  3. There's deeper low level moisture up here...not much dry air to mix down and dissipate the stratus.
  4. Perhaps when JH gets healthy and is back on the roster, JJ can play one of those outfield positions. Been pretty inconsistent(mostly awful) so far.
  5. How come that didn’t happen here…there’s a lot of land from eastern mass to my area..and the clouds got us anyway. Go 20 miles west of here and it’s clear.
  6. @CAPE @Chris78 Quote from a few weeks ago about the defense. And Alby also said during ST that when he first talked to the players individually when he got here, they all said the same thing: they wanted to focus on fundamentals. So you can see just how much things had slipped under Hyde, smh But this also tells me that perhaps things will get better as the new coaching sets in more. We shall see!
  7. AFD was amended for "pesky low clouds near northeastern MD through midday". It's been thick. Just got a glimpse of sun.
  8. I think there’s better mixing over the land which is helping to dry out the low levels and limit the easterly mank trying to advect in. That’s why you have the cloud line straddling the NJ shore too. But basically there’s enough land that makes up Long Island that the further west you get the more you’re able to take a bite out of that stratus.
  9. WB 12Z NBM, not a drought buster but hopefully won't have to water my new plants for a couple of days.
  10. Oh absolutely. I'll admit I hadn't been 100% convinced by JJ (that is, whether this is an early flash before the league gets a book on him, or is this actually a thing), but has shown some legit mental toughness this week. I mean he makes the error, but then looks completely unflappable and just goes down a gets that pitch in his next AB. Like Big Ben says: "No scar tissue", lol A very good sign. Now of course, he's gonna eventually cool off and have to struggle a bit like they all do, but...if he gets through that and still hits like this? We've truly got something!
  11. Interesting heat island effect around NYC as the mank tries to push west. Very cool watching it in motion. https://weather.cod.edu/satrad/?parms=local-New_Jersey-02-24-1-100-1&checked=map&colorbar=undefined
  12. Tongue in cheek. That said he is playing well and can play multiple positions, so they will find ways to get him in the lineup if he keeps hitting like that.
  13. 52° with heavy overcast. Misery missed has stopped. Great day for working outside. Shrubs and trees popping their colors
  14. Last few runs of the Euro AI have just been comical
  15. Current RONi equivalent is ~+0.1 though it’s risen ~0.4 the last 4 days. So, in a few days it would be up a few more tenths if the same rise rate were to hold. How does +0.1 compare to RONI equivalent for the other 3? 1982/97: +.0.4 2015: +0.9 but it had a head start vs others So, it could be near 82/97 soon IF the rapid rise continues. https://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/data/indices/rel_wksst9120.txt
  16. You know we're screwed when Chris starts saying "it will be interesting to see".....thereafter, you can insert a means for the demise of the impending winter. Are you able to access the latest ERA 5 data...ie for the entire month of March? I am encountering the same issue as with NCAR...
  17. More time behind the plate should show improvement for Basillo. A few games ago he had 2 past balls and some of it looked like laziness to me. That can't be tolerated and I'm sure Albernaz has let that be known.
  18. Today
  19. I was wondering that-if the jet is active down there-do we get that much?
  20. Too early to tell that for sure though, lol Now once JJ struggles and is able to overcome it at the same level, and JH hasn't improved any...then yeah I think we can say that! That being said...Jackson Holliday is not gonna be benched for JJ I don't think. Wonder if JJ can play outfield...or 3B?
  21. Oh dam…that sucks. Feel for you. We had a July week here with upper 80’s and Thursday hit 90. Yesterday was gorgeous too with upper 70’s. 62 now with clouds…high is forecast close to 70 today.
  22. Bring up Enrique Bradfield for one. Put Cowser in left, and ya may have to platoon in right. Behind the plate I think we gotta give Basallo some time to figure it out--he is just a rookie after all. He could be better later in the season for all we know. And once Adley comes back that'll help to mitigate the shortcomings in the meantime.
  23. what a lovely day comfortable temps nice breeze i wish it was like this all summer me and my hoodie.
  24. 62 now. Forecast high is 69…hope we make it.
