looks warm

30 with fog and frost this morning.

Another 37.8°

37.2 with some frost

Yes sir. Coldest morning of the season so far here in the lowlands. 35 in my yard as well. I think we have our first light frost. Early this season. Winter- 1, Nino- 0 so far.

The models are developing two upper low pressure centers in the North Pacific as we head into late October. One area of lower pressures has already been developing over the Bering Sea through the first 16 days of October. The next center is forming over California and the Baja. My guess is that the stronger mid-latitude pattern which has been keeping the big ridge east of Japan is currently overlapping with the super El Niño forcing. Almost like a filter if you like. So this leads to the persistent -PDO that we have been experiencing instead of a +2.00 PDO which we would normally be getting with such a strong El Niño and +PMM. With such an historic east based event, the trough getting pushed into the West Coast will cause the Nino ridge to persist from the Upper Plains across the Great Lakes and into the East. October 500 mb pattern through the 16th Forecast into late November

Sign me up. Any cool days or flakes we can get for this December I’m going to consider bonus points. I’ll consider it a win if Xmas isn’t 65. lol

October is AN precip wise here. Coming dry weeks will reverse rapidly.

drought pattern re-emerging

BWI down to at least 35.

That's what I told Chuck in the MA forum a bit earlier.

I was at Walmart around 12:30pm yesterday and some younger woman had a full-fledged winter coat on. I was like it's not that cold out yet.

I'll take the weather underground's forecast.

It was 34 here just before midnight so it goes down on the 18th for me.

29°. Too early in the season.

A little warmer this am, only down to 32F so far

Not sure the SE as a whole sees much/any more rain through the end of the month. This weekends system was very welcome as it dropped generally at least 0.5” across most of the state. With the strong offshore low, temps have trended way down this week and a beautiful fall weather pattern looks to be locked in!

Hit 41.7 yesterday morning. Picked up 0.61” Saturday which brings MTD to 2.43”

32 here. Heading out now. Will probably drop below freezing before the sun comes up

Seeing a great forecast for the week, I went down to work Saturday noon to wash our truck. Much to my chagrin, the camera guy was there installing new cameras in all the trucks, so I couldn't do it. A waste of time and expensive gas, but the real irritation is that we now have driver facing cameras to deal with. Before, we just had outward facing ones. I (along with everyone else) am not happy with it. We'll see how it works out.
