    Quoting myself but now settled in at the office... My hunch is that ONE of the day performs for many of us - whether it's divided up into 2 days remains to be seen. But even with what @vortex95 said - I think most of us would be skeptical of seeing consecutive days impact the exact same areas. Perhaps the first day hits the M/D line counties more and skunks the rest of us, then perhaps the next day is more of the metro area(s), then a bit too far south for the bulk of the subforum the following day.

    quite the temp grandient northeast of the city-upper 60's to upper 80's in a short distance. In between will get all the rain

    Its likely tar spot which is a harmless fungal infection. I have a few large maples that get it every year (late Summer/early Fall) and are already dropping leaves. There only way to get rid of it is to remove all leaves from your yard after they fall.

    Everything on satellite would suggest this is a TC this morning, and a ship observation of a westerly wind near the center would suggest this is a closed low. Recon will confirm I guess. Given its size and more symmetrical convective appearance this morning, I don’t think dry air has been too impactful yet. It may have a higher ceiling as @Windspeed suggests, but we’ll see what recon finds.

    That exact same paragraph is carried over to this morning's AFD. "Latest guidance"? NWS and CWG disagree on storm chances today: NWS has a 40% pop for central Fairfax, CWG downplays it: "Can't rule out an isolated evening storm, especially north and northwest of the Beltway." Decided to live dangerously and leave the umbrella at home; let's see how that works out.
