Just rake it to get airflow, it will be fine. Don't need any chemicals, etc. I get it every single year pretty bad and its always ends up fine without any treatment. The snow mold areas might take a little longer to green up.

Insane heat likely in the SW. I'm seeing Phoenix at 105 and Vegas at 100F. All time records -
It snowed in Charlotte on st Patrick’s day I think 2014? Was there for the bar crawl (I was younger) and woke up to snow

2026-2027 El Nino

His point about cold winning out from the western warmth the further east you went is very apparent from the winter temp departure. -
The northeast will be the cool island in a sea of warmth this spring. BDCFs should be quite strong this season.

Here comes the victory declaration...

You guys remember that CRAZY backdoor cold front we had last spring? I cant remember the date, but we dropped like 30 degrees in minutes! It was insanity. I remember going from 82 to like 48 in literally like 15 minutes.

Yes its torching today. I wasnt referring to you, I was referencing the fact that as soon as winter got off to a cold start, some were "projecting" a warm jan, then a warm feb. Like you, I primarily care about the weather where I live (SE MI) so the frequent posts about record warmth in the West were an afterthought in our cold, white winter. This winter was unusually in that Detroit averaged quite a bit colder than Chicago, but it made sense in this pattern as Chicago was further west. It was still a colder than avg winter at ORD, but very front loaded. -
Yeah some.drifts and shaded areas but it's gone enough that it just blends in now. I still have mailbox high driveway piles, some of those will hang out for a while because I purposefully shovel them to be as dense as possible inside the hedges. The other side was as high but melted off today. Gonna go fire up the grill

Thanks P. Allen Smith

Wonderful spring day…can’t wait for more of this!

Legit summer feeling out there. Best jog of 2026 so far. Aromas from restaurants getting ready for dinner. An occasional grill. Fresh laundry smell. Glorious out there.

Epic nosedive once we hit first week of February. At this point just would like to see the streak last through March and April for giggles. . -
This ain’t set in stone…we watch.

You left it too long before the winter/snow set in Scott. That’s tough.
-
Record highs today at DTW (72°) and MBS (68°), both beating the previous records by one degree.
-
@backedgeapproaching any remedies for snow mold on grass?
-
Well…let me tell ya about 2023…
-
Going to put mine away this weekend. Anything small can just melt with the strong sun...
-
the snow events that were advertised a few days in row but lost them today could be back soon or not. It's basically spring out here so chances are against snow but it could happen!
-
Feels like the extension is already done but I could be wrong. But yeah we've been getting straight up Thanosed so far, lol
-
Sampling of some high temperatures across NJ today. Was a stellar day. Reached 70 here today. Can't beat it with a stick. Even the plowed mounds are fading fast in my neighborhood. Expect most to be gone by weeks end. Mall parking lots might take a little longer.

Dec 6-7, 1996. Two sig snow nor'easters in two calendar days. That is exceptional. I know of no other so short time period events for the region, at least in the last 50 years. First storm was tightly wrapped 990 mb low that dumped max of 18" at Cornwall CT and 17.6" at Worthington MA (wet glop that stayed on the trees for the next storm). Then a much larger, more classic coastal came in the evening of the following day w/ 19.5" at New Ipswich NH, 18" at Ashburnham MA, and 16.5" at Union CT (wet glop again that turned to rain many area). So the result w/ 900k w/o power, 500k in MA alone. Biggest power outage for NH up to this time. CoastalWx lamenting in Brockton once again I bet for that event. Funniest thing I recall was the huge lines at DD's the following morning of the second storm (Sunday) in places like Bedford MA. B/c it was largely rain here but not even 5 mi N, wet snow disaster w/ no power. So no one could make coffee and were flocking S to get their fix!

Get in the bus, we’re going winning.
