  1. Past hour
  2. I didn't think of you as a Woodstock person Julian
  3. Absolutely torrential rainfall coming down with this storm. Lots of thunder and lightning with the temperature dramatically dropping to 63 degrees.
  4. Balancing is how things work after all. I remember the 80s and they were very similar to this and no one was crying about wildfires back then. It's probably all this overgrowth from the years of flooding rains that are causing the wildfires now and that excess foliage needs to burn off.
  5. 1983 was one amazing summer (and September was part of that summer.) What did JFK hit, Don? I made it to 85 here.
  6. Made it to 85 today, it's probably not going to be this warm again until next year so savor it!!
  7. Absolutely pouring now. After a high of 80 back down to 72.
  8. A rather warm day today. Walked outside at 1030 this morning and was like ooffffffffff.
  9. Real feel here is 89. Humidity is low thankfully. Temps in the shade aren’t bad. Mornings aren’t bad.
  10. I did hear the east side of the city got a surprise strong storm (with flash flooding) yesterday though, which is something. Apparently, DET picked up nearly 2" of rain from it.
  11. I think this is a sugar maple, but I am not sure. The silver maples have slightly different leaves.
  12. I call this one a "fire bush" but I don't know the name of it
  13. apparently the Spotted Lantern Flies have invaded the Jersey Shore today.
  14. More or less. I'm envisioning it being a temp thing for like 3-5 years but the location is good since I find myself hanging out in Kingston/Woodstock/Catskill quite a bit. Proximity to a more varied network of trails is also a plus, and I have some good space to keep the gardens going. Definitely a climo downgrade, though it's not like I've been racking up the KUs in Millbrook over the last decade. At least I'll be more likely to head into the Catskills and actually take advantage of the pack there during our all but assured gradient winters
  15. Today
  16. Very cool. Though I am a little disappointed. I have been outdone.
  17. The newly released CPC Winter outlook is colder than 90-95% of what they've put out in the long range for the last 10 years, for the CONUS. The NW, US is an interesting forecast, because the Euro, CANSIPs, and other seasonal models are above average there.
  18. Now today is effin’ dry. Full sun, breezy and dews in low 40’s. caved and watered.
  19. It’s been insanely dry since the end of July
  20. I imagine color is ramping up bigtime in NNE with the drought. Our average peak in SE MI is mid-late October, but color began in late August as the cool nights arrived and even with the pattern shift to warmer, color continues to expand. The air smells like fall with all the drying leaves, even in the warm sun, and I suspect the dry conditions have to be playing a part. Kind of hard to tell in this picture from earlier, but the gold of the grass is only a few shades lighter than the gold on the trees.
  21. Nice summer afternoon, one of the few remaining. :(
  22. No summer here. Dews dippin into the 30s.
  23. Dry. Warm. Dry. Sunny. Dry. Colors continue to pick up steam despite the warmer weather. Did I mention dry?
  24. Cool wedding venue around corner from friends place Sent from my SM-S921U using Tapatalk
  25. WB 12Z ensembles: 5 day period ending next Sunday is looking promising for more rain.
