Aside from less forcing, there’s a trend up here for some drier sfc air to work in overnight. That may be attributing to some of the sharp cutoff in S NH.

Let's get some hurricane force winds in Tolland please ... This man is about to pass out!

JTA66 replied to PhiEaglesfan712's topic in Philadelphia Region
Approaching 0.25”. Sump pumps keeping pace with the sporadic drizzle. A few small to medium sized leaves down on the lawn. Will post more obs if power stays on. 57F Edit: Regret not making a bread, milk and eggs run yesterday. -
Rain really wasn't suppose to get really going till about noon ish I thought. With that said. Slower moving storm? But a bit stronger resulting in stronger winds sooner?

I've always been a fan of roundabouts but this one isn't as good as it could be. The merge zones are way too short, curbs almost intrude to the point that if you're forced to make a line correction because someone else screwed up you'll probably hit the curb and the lanes are borderline too narrow if towing a long trailer like so many contractors do. I've always enjoyed the goat path but take 403 as often as not now because most people are too stupid to handle the new layout.

Spooky Season (October Disco Thread)

Everything looks fine to me and about as confident as I've ever been that winter will be decent. -
LAG gusted to 40 mph last hour and JFK to 39 mph. Of note, pressures still rising so that Canadian HP is still pushing down a bit. As has been said on here in previous days, it's not the strength of the LP but the pressure gradient that's causing the winds.

I haven't been through there yet. Roundabouts are definitely something people need to get used to but they are much more effective at moving traffic, and safer once people get used to it as there are much less potential collision points. There are a number of other more effective and safer designs for intersections/interchanges that are finally startingto get implemented more these days. Unfortunately people don't like change and like to complain so many won't be happy unless they are sitting still at a red light in a tradition intersection.

33 mph gust so far, tides are running much higher versus all week so far low tide is now with first high tide about 3 pm today. Waves out here on the east end are quite impressive 2-4 feet( I'm very bad with guessing wave heights) plenty of white caps. Cross sound ferry to be London still running, for now but I expect them to cancel boats soon! Winds are deft increasing. The trees are screaming with all the leaves still on them.... Setup is deft there for decent power outages, especially areas that haven't had lines or poles upgraded since sandy. Let's not forget, prolonged dry/ drought on top of bugs or diseases will allow trees to be compromised/ weak.
