So aside from the subforum merger, what's our next trackable event? Severe? Floods? Heatwave? -
my yard was clear as of Tuesday, except for the snowblower pile. The last of that will be gone today. we're on to spring!

Next weeks warmth is being considerably shortened. GFS has highs struggling to reach the 40's Thursday through Saturday. -
The SST chart comes from here: https://climatereanalyzer.org/clim/sst_daily/?dm_id=world2

There were a couple of good sized chunks of "pack" left. Even through yesterday, along with a few small piles from plows/snowblowing, etc. Gone now. Many of my neighbors with shaded yards (from fir trees, etc) have some left. I actually had some snow on my pool deck until... Tuesday?

March +NAO.. 2026 will probably have ~+2 NAO. It precedes warm CONUS conditions the following Winter in the northern 1/2 fwiw -
A general request for everyone. Whenever you post a chart - can you post a link to the source? (I get into discussions with others and often want to point them to the data; or in some case I want to look at subsets / variations of the data - e.g. this case it's not clear which year is the record year that we're contending with.) Thanks.

I understand. The "NY nonsense"as a reader (not emotionally vested) doesn't bother but can amuse me, personally. I'm not much of a contributor- those that add more value than me are the captains of this forum. Mr. Gorse's post, whether serious or not, prompted my opinion, which I'll stand by- after consuming all the forums posting over time. The value added posters here own the decisions. -
I found out this morning that the posted wait times have been pretty wrong first thing in the mornings, so that’s making me reconsider my plans a bit

It’s an a- for me simply because I see the river every day and it was frozen for 2.5 months. I’m a simple man lol I didn’t know it was supposed to be windy today. North winds at 35 mph. -
I’m doing that today. I wish us both well!

Thank you for sharing! I can't and won't argue any of that. And as I mentioned I think twice in my post, recency bias is something that I can struggle with. Sounds like our perception/opinion for the "true" winter months of December through February are quite similar, it seems like March is the month we have differing viewpoints of. As you mentioned, it can and hopefully will be a great discussion. -

^ Stratosphere warming really busted with lagged -NAO probability.. for the 2nd year in a row in March. The November one worked though -
This was a fail. Those earlier predictions of going negative was wrong. This put an end to any winter threats.

I can't speak for the Philly forum, but I enjoy your posts much more than some of the new additions to our forum.
