  1. Past hour
  2. Warm and wet would be my guess. Prob another high dew summer.
  3. Above average all time high averages, yes. But probably not too much extreme heat. I mean that's just gut bc long range forecasting is meh imo.
  4. Kiosk mode no status...css. #statuspanel { display: none !important; } #statuspanel[type="overLink"] { display: block !important; }
  5. i just took a look at my accuwx maps/temps lol
  6. I ended up getting my 13th storm of the year, TWN snagged this one with pegged storms but WUN had the amount nearly down to the mm (I got 8mm, basically that was shown) and the 99% which for a squall line makes sense. Infrequent but bright, 'blooming' lightning. My ws didn't detect half of them strikes, I got 75.
  7. Today
  8. It has been sitting over my area for at least the last 20 min. Not moving fast at all.
  9. Hearing the thunder from that, but so far it's sliding to my SE.
  10. Have a nice cell that started just to my immediate SW. Had some lightning with it at first now just heavy rains right over me. ETA getting some nice fireworks again.
  11. Prob. And like last week it is CRAWLING.
  12. Let it do a Pillow Split. Maybe it'll reform over here and give me a good one...
  13. I'm trying to hold it back from crossing the Susquehanna River, but my efforts might be futile.
  14. Just an awesome light show here for the last 90 minutes with the storms riding off to the NW. What’s left of the line is finally arriving.
  15. Pop up thundershower formed almost right over top of me. Heavy rain falling.
  16. I'll bet that line doesn't even make it across the Susquehanna. If it does, it most assuredly won't make it to my backyard.
  17. Speaking for myself- I enjoy it. I probably mow every 3-4 days. Lawncare and landscaping are a hobby and are actually enjoyable. Many dread having to cut the lawn on weekends, so they can't imagine why someone would do it more than once a week AT most. I dont do it to "keep up with the Joneses" or one up my neighbor with a meticulous lawn or landscape, I don't have any neighbors--lol. I get a lot of us have different views on what is or isn't a waste of time, resource, money when it comes to this. I do spend a good amount of money(mainly on perennials plants/trees/conifers/etc) and like the yard overall looking nice. Part of that is the lawn too, which I also like freshly cut in combination with all the landscape beds. Certainly get that many on here could not give two craps about it this stuff. I really try to keep the lawn stuff as organic as possible, but will also do soil tests to see what is needed for lawn and plants and make amendments based on that so Im not just throwing stuff down that is not needed. With all that said, maybe your neighbor is bored out of his mind or hates his wife
  18. Typically our more extreme hot summers tend to have hot month of May. This summer will likely be warmer than average, but it should not be extreme heat. Seasonal models continue to depict the worst of the summer heat located in the West.
  19. Ticks do well when we have snow cover before any arctic outbreaks, which we had this winter. Then early spring being moist helps get them active again. It has really been ideal conditions.
  20. I am in Three Springs. It is storming. And there is flooding. The most weather-boring part of the state is getting weather. That's the weather.
  21. I mean it depends, nothing major but I know last summer my area got into some decent severe. Not a snowy winter but the snow did stick around and we hit 0 or below a few times. Our area isn't necessarily prone to exciting weather per say, which I'm fine with. Hurricanes and tornadoes are definitely something we can live without, and we've seen what can happen when they do occur. I'm fine with a good snowstorm or a nice thunderstorm after a hot summer day.
  22. Accuweather should just rebrand to Climoweather
  23. Ah so it doesn't usually go from cool Mays to 100s in JJA?
  24. I’m getting serious 2023 Deja vu with this mist, drizzle and smoke. Iirc that pattern went on for at least two weeks in June and then when it broke, we had probably the single wettest (and muggiest) stretch I can remember. I wonder if we’ll see a similar situation occur this time around, although hopefully with a little less smoke and misery mist.
  25. sometimes I'll just take a peak at my AccuWeather forecast.. warmest temp the rest of Summer but happens a few times is 83.. we pray!
