Not a single drop here. At least yet. -
83/48, enjoying the dry heat. Should have prime viewing for the lunar eclipse tonight.

Marble size hail over in Dauphin - friend took a pic. Pretty epic missed in the city today. I do have .06” now though! -
May and August have o-k N Pacific correlations. They were both opposite this year. 3 months US averaged below average temps for El Nino warm season. All 3 months were above average. It's not the strongest, but there are pattern effects that aren't happening since the El Nino developed in April. I agree that it's 3-4x more relevant starting in like Oct-Nov.

The effects are more in the southern hemisphere now. After mid-fall or so, it’ll switch over to the northern hemisphere and thats when we should start seeing some typical nino characteristics like a STJ. Aug and early sept are almost irrelevant, except for the tropics.

Go back to the satellite imagery and you’ll see all those fires ignited all at the same time. It’s not a coincidence it’s on purpose and it’s not by campers. .

The El Nino is just stagnant over the Tropics right now? The cold season has much higher effects, but you typically do see some things now, or whenever a +2.4c ENSO event is happening, warm or cold season. That we've seen 7-0 N. Pacific ridges vs troughs since the El Nino officially began is somewhat of a leading indicator.. instead of your usual -120dm winter n. pacific anomaly, I'd say it's more likely to be around -30dm for the DJFM mean. Pacific vs Atlantic hurricane season has been El Nino so far.

Wild, crazy storm that seems to be “training” over Marysville. Torrential rain, thunder, lightning, & light hail mixed in as well! Over 1.5 inches of rain in the last 30 minutes & counting. it looks like a river is running down the street! -
I'd consider a rain changing to a minor snow accumulation this December a victory. And that's coming from an eternal optimist.

I not talking about effects now. I'm talking about how things go come October and November which would give a better clue than a few days at the end of August/early September. That was the original subject of my post.

Just a light shower here in HBG lol - it’s missed the city mostly entirely. The lightning to the NW is epic -

Looks like @Blizzard of 93 is getting a very strong storm. -
Maybe a downburst signature right around North Potomac or a hair NE of there? Probably sub-severe at least at this second but seems to be intensifying

Best show of the year in Gaithersburg. We had 4 hits that were on top of us and it is still going. Two may have hit my property it was so bright and close. Also saw green lightning. My 4yo even asked why it was so green.
