  6. I got 0.95" here last night. All this rain combined with the lack of heat is great for the romaine lettuce plants that I have out there now for the fall. They are taking off. I'm glad the next few days look great though -- we definitely could use a drying out period.
  7. 0.95" last night and 7.95" for the month. over 12 inches since July 1st.
  8. That trajectory looks like it’s going to miss Boston and points SE
  9. This weekend turned out about as bad as you could draw up. Cloudy and crappy with absolutely no rain. What a waste. Some ponds around here have turned into mud with a puddle of water in the middle.
  10. Bridgeport picked up 1.44" (36.6 mm) of rain in the past hour. That is tied for its 5th heaviest hourly August rainfall. Today, it has picked up 2.35" (59.7 mm) of rain breaking its daily mark of 1.69" (42.9 mm) from 1970. 2.34" (59.4 mm) has fallen in the past two hours. Heavy rain has moved into New Haven.
  11. Below is the 7 day East Nantmeal ChescoWx vs NWS P&C
  12. Models were mostly awful with this rain event. Hrrr finally caught on at the last minute
  13. Man even Vancouver getting crushed with the storm of a lifetime last night.
  14. Here to Gene will find the weak part of the swath for sure. Wish I could add to my radar icons
  15. I think a near record low snowfall season is just about baked in for next winter. I've mentioned this several times but some of our best snowfall winters are preceded by very hot and dry summers. Think 1966, 1993, 1995, 2002, 2010 and even last summer 2025. I'm thinking for NYC snowfall of less than 10 inches and an average temperature for the winter over 40 degrees. Those who like rainy summers should also like snowless winters because they go together. As far any hope is concerned the only hope is that the winter after next will be great a la 1995-96 (just on a lesser level) after 1994-95 after 1993-94 (which had similarities to last winter just on a lesser level.) The chances of a very hot and very dry summer in 2027 are very high and if that happens a snowy winter should follow in 2027-28.
  16. Nice cool morning in the Valley. I had a low of 61 at the house and a nice breeze out of the NW. I see Mount Mitchell had a low in the 40's. Tomorrow morning we may make a run at the upper 40's here!
