What’s happened in central PA is definitely not a cycle unless it’s a very long term one. Like Bluewave mentioned the storms that really slam that area have essentially gone extinct.

First things first the snow must hold off till dark -
Even though its been an excellent snowcover winter here, i always hate watching snow melt. Id say that even if i lived where Bo does and watched the last melt in May. The snowmelt and temp inversion is actually causing poor air quality today.

And isn't debatable...there's research, so any voices of dissent must be born of an aptitude deficiency. -

Winter 2025-26 Medium/Long Range Discussion

Actually this year is the opposite here. It feels like more snow has fallen because of the consistent deep snowcover. We had a few fluff events but a lot of times it was so cold that we were getting 10-12:1 powder. The 5.2" snowstorm on Jan 25th was like sand and it was so cold, it seemed more like an 8"+ storm. Definitely due for a couple quick melting snows in Mar/Apr to complete things (and of course hopefully a big storm lol). -

I'll burn a few extra tons of fossil fuels. -
Here in the eastern part of the state there was rain to start apparently from what I’ve read. So, this area kind of got screwed. I wasn’t born until July that year so I couldn’t see what was happening, I could only listen. lol
-
Was thinking, how will you celebrate reaching climo? Will confetti rain down your living room? Fireworks going off in the backyard?
-
Man if today is any idea, I’m fucked in April lol.

At least you should be able to get into the 60s on Wednesday. It’ll probably be foggy and 30s here on Wednesday. -
630 Feet! That's like the RI equivalent of Mt Jefferson.

Another trace - 2” ; cleans up the snow back until we get a good thaw this week to finally get rid of these piles.
-
Heavy rain??
-
Because there isnt a NA blocking set up, the success of the upcoming potential events largely lies with timing of the vortices moving into the 50-50 space- they will be on the move and we need the confluence/convergence on the west side to flatten the flow some and keep surface HP in place.
-
yeah... been awhile since we've seen a 2" basin wide rain event into a foot of dying snow
-
Unfortunately they will be the 2 seed. Screw the Canadians, although i liked that Tom Wilson fight.

I’d be happy with a few inches.

Yes but it's a narrow zone before it hits the meat grinder. GFS seems to have nudged slightly north.
