  1. Past hour
  2. Season to date snowfall ending March 2nd. Reports are from here, cocorahs, COOP, climate sites. This was a tough one with a lot of missing days in cocorahs and reports that didn't line up or make sense. Did the best i could with the information i had. SNE/Tri-State/CT only maps are also up and a season progression animation. Winter 25-26 Seasonal Snowfall This is the 4th update of the season and probably the second to last update with a final map coming in April sometime when the threat of additional snow drops to near zero. March 2nd Update Snowfall Progression
  3. Light Snow…crawling to 60” lol. If the blizzard didn’t bone me, I’d be crawling to 80” too.
  4. A+. It not only snowed in Columbia, but we had a winter wonderland effect of actual accumulation in inches with blowing large flakes looking gorgeous during the day.
  5. Wish we could have a conversation about the adverse effects that has on the environment.
  6. and this is what's so frustrating. If the pattern goes warm, I'd just prefer it stays that way. Very frustrating to lose the pack over a 2 day stretch to then go right back into winter. My opinion is based only on snowmobile season where I'd rather crank through 3 more wks of winter then you can torch it.
  7. Ugh what happened to Morch? Just end it already. At least we got in the ballpark of normal snowfall finally after 7 years.
  8. Maybe a little east of there...395? There was evidence of the usual banding, but not of any shadowing in the Hudson and CT River valleys.:
  9. Ok I get that…but as the top administrator for a school district…it’s you that’s gonna take the heat for the call you make. If folks weren’t so sue happy…then absolutely I agree with you. But that’s not the case…so what else can one do when presented with a possible situation like his…? You play it safe..and save your job. And then nobody gets hurt and you’re a hero.
  10. Hopefully next year if we get a Nino it will be good for the north and west areas. The WDI is high for us
  11. yeah it'll actually be quite balmy tomorrow with light winds and mid 50s under mostly sunny. That'd be the new warmest day so far
  12. light sleet and rain here now up to 33
  13. Excellent! What's odd is that there was a stalled front along what is now present day I-91. West of there was heavy intense snow-east-rain and lighter rates
  14. Going with 1.1” snow for March 2nd. Season snow total now 19.3”. No iciness this morning when I went out at 6am, when it was 30° and rainy. Walkways and roads just wet. The snow seemingly protected the car windshield and windows from any potential ice forming.
  15. Ya but when it’s your job to provide safety…you’re gonna take the fall If you err on the wrong side. What’s so hard to understand about this? I agree…there are times when a cancellation may not be needed..if we knew exactly what the future may hold a few hrs from decision time…but we don’t. If it was your job on the line…what would you do? I’d play it safe in that situation.
  16. Sleet/snow mix now steady temp dropping slowly
  17. My reality of this goes something like Too cold today Snow later on and night Some nape value tomorrow, but otherwise annoying during a reprehensible pattern that's become quite consistent with this piece of shit month that used to be viable but has become too mangled by CC to be what it used to be
