Frost Advisory tonight for some northern border states. Let the winter countdown begin... -
It appears that the western half of LI will end up on the lower end of predicted totals. The forks will be in the good stuff

Looks like we’ll get an early sample of the super El Nino ridge north of the Great Lakes in late September.

Another heavy acorn year, not the most we've had but plenty of plump ones. Raking isn't my fav outdoor chore, and I have 3 large oaks that cause lots of raking this time of year. I have a big tow-behind leaf vac fI've had for years that works great for leaf pickup, and last year that company advertised a 'nut rake' and after a bit of research, I got one. Tried it out this year and it worked great. Of course not advocating how anyone else should grab nuts, but having seen other folks here with severe acorn angst I thought I'd share this out. My acorn raking days may just be behind me... Short vid here from my first couple passes with this thing:

When I was growing up in the 60s and 70s there were many September days in the 80s especially the first half of the month.Even some days in the 90s..Its still officially Summer.

For many portions of Virginia, the drought insists on persisting. Augusta County was dry slotted again, giving me .08". Sutton W.Va. was radar indicated to receive 5.41". Clifton Forge 2.13", Gordonsville 2.01", Lake Monticello 1.06", Scottsville .81". This looks real good!!!!

Part of north-central Iowa is in the mid 40s this morning. It's coming. There is not a single 80º+ high temp in our forecast over the next week.

Thats hilarious. I’m guessing ABC. Terrible there. I mean nothing remotely shows anything like that . This screams SE CT to SE MA for highest totals -

Looks like a coast special with less in between the bands. Like models show -
NYC isn’t considered one of the local warm spots these days due to the artificial cooling from the trees. So the mid 80s will likely be from around Philly to perhaps Newark. This record breaking 600 dm ridge really moderated the cool down which was expected to follow for late September. New run Old run

Heavy rain now. Hopefully the seed I laid down yesterday doesn’t all wash out. Saw that a flash flood warning was posted for southeastern Morris County down near Long Hill Township/Chatham.
