Decent light show to the north and south this evening. Just wish it would have hit the Lehigh Valley instead of going around us.

0.03 today !!!! 0.57 month !!! Finally got past the 2 inch mark total this week since late June... Seen drier periods down here but never a more frustrating 75 days.... Not 1 single direct hit or a real glancing blow from any convective shower or storm... It's been basically sloppy 4ths not 2nds here...

We've had periods of heat back in June and last month and with more plentiful rainfall over the next week or so, it looks like we can just write off August as a whole.

I got absolutely rejected by these storms. I was certain that line coming from the west would not fail to hit us hard here in Hickory. But the eastward motion completely stopped at the Catawba County line. I ended up with a ton of thunder, lots of wind, and 0.02 inch of rain as it all dissipated before reaching my house. Ouch.

Getting some distant thunder and a few flashes. Storm looks to track just south of here.
