Same song and dance. And guess what? The hitting didn't show up again. It's pretty simple to see why this team will go nowhere. Some of the more un-clutch players I've seen. For every one time they succeed, they fail another 4. Sigh

Where's football season?

After last night, they are pretty much done. Sniffed 500, now lost 4 straight. 9.4% chance of making the playoffs(which is pointless anyway). They are who we thought they were.

Did any of you legit get drawn back in? I for one did not--I put the nail in playoffs hopes this year after the Toronto series in June...compounded by subsequent near .500 mark failures afterward, lol I just enjoyed the Rays series in the moment knowing it wasn't gonna last! But all this crap and the bad luck will only be worth it if it compel Rubinstein to finally show Elias the door. We'll Ruby ya you're embarrassed? Please act accordingly! Ain't gonna get any better until you do!

I feel Sorry for you.  But you are right, has to be better.  I've been a United Man, but they frustrate me too.  My son is a huge Chelsea fan.  Hopefully they all stick it to Arsenal this year.

Arsenal pretty much toying with Coventry

As in that this team could actually contend this year? Fuck no. But the reality is at least one awful team is going to make the playoffs, which is complete crap, and one issue MLB faces right now. Stop being the NBA(making the long regular season largely meaningless), and figure out how to come up with a cap/floor to achieve some semblance of competitive balance.

Alonso has been worth every. Single. Penny. @CAPE with all due respect...darn you, lol I will troll you for a long time for that uh...suggestion of yours earlier this season ;) He belongs here and will be and O'd HOF member one day. And uh...he certainly looks like he wants to play here to me :D

Keep thinking about what could have been if they had someone like Pete in 23 and 24

Never said he wasn't dude. He is a great hitter. But this team is NOT competitive, and he might be wasting his best years here, so maybe it might be best for both parties to trade him so he can get with a winning team, make them better, give him a chance to win something, while the Os can get more young talent and continue their perpetual rebuilding mode. The sad reality. Deal with it.

Not competitive...THIS year. And that last sentence...assumes the perpetual rebuild will continue. Rubinstein fires Elias that entire paradigm will change. The remaining 4 years could be much more fruitful than the first. That reality is not set in stone my friend. Now if Elias stays...problem. But that's far from settled, imo

I think that may be the only weakness Elias may have improved on: understanding the importance of not just any old veteran leadership, but leadership with pedigree. That was sorely missing those years...and I think it would've made a huge difference!

Sad how Alonso has been everything the Os had hoped he would be, and it has made zero difference. That speaks volumes about where this team is(or isnt).

Their starting pitching has been solid too for the most part. Gunnar though, man has he regressed terrible.

Definitely hasn't made them a contending team. But I think they'd  be double digits under .500 at this point with out him. He's put the offense on his back the entire month of August.

I keep waiting for an announcement for a Rodgers extension. I kind of thought maybe something was in the works when they didn't trade him at the  deadline.
