That is shocking

Yeah, it has really sucked. Rain keeps developing just W of me, then dissipating as it gets close. Happened 4 times yesterday before it finally rained around 1AM. The good thing is I've only cut the grass 3 times this year.

We're in the Falls watershed near Laurel Creek (a couple of miles SW of the NC50/NC98 intersection) so we drain into Falls Lake.

July to date:

7.3" + 0.25" (Friday evening) + 12 BIG drops over the weekend + 1.6" yesterday evening

= 9.1"

We had 4.6" in June

We've lived in this house since '92 and this is one of the wettest June/July periods we've had. Obviously when you get to Aug/Sept some of the tropical events over the years have delivered large amount of rain, but for June/July it's been outstanding this year.

Picked up just shy of an inch and a half here Brier Creek.  I was stuck at JFK from 6pm yesterday for my 830 flight to RDU got pushed backed and again and again and we finally got pushed back at 130am from JFK and got here at 240am. All due to the wx here. I was jealous watching the radar in NY and everyone here telling me what crazy storms they were.  Guess Im going to have to leave town more often, ha ha.

Here is a pic of Falls Lake on my departure Sat around noon time.  the lighter green color is vegetation growing in the lake where it used to be all water.
