End of month update: Another 1.8 " (mostly in buckets Tuesday evening) to close the month at an even 15" for July. June/July total at 19.6". Talk about inflection points. Also, the trend held, drought dropping us to D1 this week. Since Tuesday's rain not counted in that assessment, and Sunday/Monday looking wet, will we manage D4, D3, D2, D1, D0 on successive weeks?

We're in the Falls watershed near Laurel Creek (a couple of miles SW of the NC50/NC98 intersection) so we drain into Falls Lake. July to date: 9.1" +4.1" over the last few days = 13.2" We had 4.6" in June, so almost a foot and a half of rain for June/July. We're on a a community well, so our water restrictions are based on the drought intensity ratings. We've now dropped from D4 to D3 to D2 on successive weeks. The trend is your friend :-)

July to date: 7.3" + 0.25" (Friday evening) + 12 BIG drops over the weekend + 1.6" yesterday evening = 9.1" We had 4.6" in June We've lived in this house since '92 and this is one of the wettest June/July periods we've had. Obviously when you get to Aug/Sept some of the tropical events over the years have delivered large amount of rain, but for June/July it's been outstanding this year.

0.5” Friday night. 1.6” last night. Total for July so far: 7.3 “ The Falls Lake watershed has been the place to be the last two months.

Another 1.6" last night. 5 hour power outage thrown in for fun. 5.2" month to date after an above average June. The darn trees will start falling out of the ground due to saturated soils. The ephemeral streams in our neighborhood have returned. They're running for a few hours after the precipitation stops. The watershed is back doing its thing.

Yep, we've been lucky this June/July. Odd, cause in the past this is one of the areas where the storms would seem to skirt around us.

Not quite the bullseye this storm, we received an additional 1.5" mostly overnight last night. Total July to date : 3.6" Not too shabby but Falls River (err, Falls Lake) has a long way to go.

July was dry until yesterday, when we were pretty close to the bullseye. Most radar returns looked close to 1.9" for this area, my rain gauge was actually at 2.1" It's strange to see things greening up in the landscape around here when Falls Lake looks like it did back when they were building the dam.

Fri-Sun (mostly Sunday) we picked up another 1.6". That puts us at 4.6" for the month of June. Have to go back to last August to see a higher monthly total. Hopefully that offshore lemon develops and gets July off to a good start.

First post, long time reader … 6 miles NE of RDU on the Wake/Durham line 3” on Wed, another half an inch yesterday. Pics from Wed during the storm (noon and 2pm) and then yesterday afternoon when the sun peaked out. No practice until Sunday :-) Thanks all , enjoyed it !
