Incredible lightning and very loud thunder here tonight. Had at least a dozen close strikes even before the rains hit. Picked up .53".

Picked up another 0.62” to bring the daily total to 2.33”. This now brings the MTD to 8.90”. Looks like maybe another round later tonight too?

Solid hit today.  1.56".  Could have had more except for some untimely swerves.  3.77" MTD.

Picked up an additional 0.12” overnight a some point which brings us up over 9” up to 9.02” MTD

Yeah, it has really sucked. Rain keeps developing just W of me, then dissipating as it gets close. Happened 4 times yesterday before it finally rained around 1AM. The good thing is I've only cut the grass 3 times this year.

We're in the Falls watershed near Laurel Creek (a couple of miles SW of the NC50/NC98 intersection) so we drain into Falls Lake.

July to date:

7.3" + 0.25" (Friday evening) + 12 BIG drops over the weekend + 1.6" yesterday evening

= 9.1"

We had 4.6" in June

We've lived in this house since '92 and this is one of the wettest June/July periods we've had. Obviously when you get to Aug/Sept some of the tropical events over the years have delivered large amount of rain, but for June/July it's been outstanding this year.

1.83" yesterday, .08" just after midnight this morning. I need to clean my gutters.

I think all of wake is over 4” for the month with Raleigh-north over 8”
