I was hoping for a little more but I'm starting to think I am the rain shield.  So far .18" this evening. Better than the shut out. Radar looks to be quieting down now. One more last chance of maybe a heavier shower with that cluster near asheboro. looks good up I 85 towards the state line though.

I have had Zero measurable rain in Garner today

A few hours ago we had gusts and the Big raindrops 3 feet part for 30 seconds

It did drop the temp about 13-14 degrees

NE Gaston County, NC. We're getting significantly underforecasted rain (thank goodness) and LLM's are largely to blame, by my opinion. My gut feeling about the "ice storm" with perfect dendrites was correct. Almost everyone got it wrong - and I have a degree in nothing! I'm doing the whole monitoring of the motion of the clouds, any vorticity/etc., electrostatic perception wizard way of doing things now and it's working. Can't explain it but I brag lol

All I use now is radar returns, and my mind just bends even without the proper education (though I did do a lot of thermodynamic, electric/fluid flow dynamics and won each one back in college)*

RDU set yet another record high yesterday, 99. This is the ***16th*** record high set in 2026 and is made even more notable by passing the old record of 15 record highs set in a calendar year (2007), keep in mind it is only June. If you think this has been a hot start to the year, it has now become historic for Raleigh! And we still have the second half of the year and raging El Niño, this year will possibly see the record double.

Thankfully the storm wasn't bad at all here. Picked up an inch and a half of rain. We did have a 50mph gust in a Tstorm, but other than that it was barely windy. I see many areas to my east got much more rain and wind. There were reports of a tornado touchdown though in that Tstorm. Hoping areas that REALLY needed some rain have cashed in.

Thankfully although there have been some winners and losers relatively speaking it was a .5"+ rainfall across the Piedmont. Pretty rare to get widespread rain like that in June

I think we’re done but what a great rainfall. 0.98” which brings me to 1.01” for the month. Biggest 24-hour rainfall since August here

Got the decent rains over night and this morning. yay!!!   .85" for the day today.

1.03" for Arthur and company.   You can hear the sighs of the lawns and plants outside this morning.

Will this system “reconfigure” the atmosphere now so it will start raining on the regular? Or will it go back to being dry?

Down in Morehead City, NC. Impressive line coming through the county and a good spin right over Havelock.

From several showers and a severe thunderstorm, I received ~1.75” yesterday. That put me then at ~3.80” MTD.

 I received more rain overnight of varying intensities and it’s still falling very lightly with constant rain since late last night. I’ll post the total for this later. It will be >0.5”.

 No more watering for at least awhile!
