Missed the good stuff today but 0.25" as a consolation prize, 1.16" for Fri - Sunday.  Looks like we'll finish with 4.35" for June, almost all in the second half.  Grass is actually pretty green here.  We'll see how it survives the big heat.

That cell that hit Falls Lake 6 miles north of me, we got missed by it. But we did get a healthier one around 630-730pm.  Even a lightning strike by Wake Med brier creek in that cell and they had to put out the fire thanks to Raleigh FD.   Picked up .40"

Update:  22 inches as of 9:00 local time today at Darkhorse Lake.  I bet if this was July it could be a state record for the month.

I’ve learned that any location with “horse” in the name, whether in Canada or the U.S., seems to be amazingly wintry:

-Deadhorse in Alaska

-Whitehorse in Yukon, Canada

-Darkhorse Lake and Hungry Horse in Montana

Thunderstorms popped up along the Savannah River ~1-1.5 hours ago. They’re moving in a somewhat unusual SE direction and one is about to get going here. Some rain drops just started falling and I hear plenty of thunder.

Edit: It looks like I got ~0.2”.

We've now had a tad over 3 inches of rain over the last seven days.  We're in the Falls watershed near Laurel Creek (a couple of miles SW of the NC50/NC98 intersection) so we drain into Falls Lake.

Hopefully a trend ...

Fri-Sun (mostly Sunday) we picked up another 1.6".

That puts us at 4.6" for the month of June. Have to go back to last August to see a higher monthly total.

Hopefully that offshore lemon develops and gets July off to a good start.

With no rain in the forecast I will confidently say 2.46” is my monthly total, far less than most of the county but my highest monthly total since August

What did the farm get for this month?
