Below is the Chester County area Climate Summary for August 2026. August finished just slightly above normal +0.6 degrees as the 52nd warmest and the 16th wettest since 1871. Through the 1st 8 months of 2026 we are running 0.7 degrees below normal temperature wise which is the 57th warmest over 151 years but only the 103rd warmest on a composite anomaly basis.

Below is the summer (June-July-August) temperature summary for 2026 and summer temperature history from 1871-1926. This was 33rd warmest summer but overall since 1895 there has been no statistically significant warming or cooling across both the raw and composite trend and only the NCEI adjusted averages indicate any significant summer warming.image.thumb.png.2d2ddc4dc68ddbf6d2b1a0d8f2a206d0.png

What looked like several days of temps in the 90s this week might end up with only one day. Today is a maybe, tomorrow is a likely not while Thursday "seems" to be a lock or close to it.

93 currently. Looks like we'll get 2 days but no heat wave. Back door cold front to the rescue tomorrow.

Another one just got hit and is working fire off of Lewisberry at school house Ln.

The fire in my neighborhood turned out to be a shed fire, and the property owner was able to get the fire out before the fire company arrived. I heard sirens heading to another emergency shortly thereafter. The School house Ln fire was probably where they were heading. Hopefully everyone's okay. It wasn't the most strokes that i've ever seen, but man, the groundstrokes meant business.

The Tamaqua Split held strong last night. It sure looked like I was going to be under the gun for a good chance for a good storm, but some cells moved northeast of me, while the main area moved southwest.

End result? No lightning, no thunder, and 0.05" of rain...
