Either way blasting snow now so just enjoy.

Thoughts of little to the coast were def incorrect on this, at least six with sizable drifts. Warm nose is not affecting your area. Just the other side of NJ. Trenton will mix before you.

Winterweatherlover
Wow I haven't been paying much attentiuon to latest guidance but latest RGEM looks like the mix line only makes it up to southern parts of the city and the Bronx northward never fully flip to sleet. 1

It's largely rate dependent. If you look at those flipping to sleet in SNJ, it's correlated to a lull in precipitation. The coastal needs to get cranking in order to enhance precip to the city north to avoid the WAA taking hold. Really interesting to watch.

Im just about@8 inches here..heavy snow currently with nne winds, keepin it snow for a while more...I see 12 to 16 easy here. If that coastal keeps deepening then all bets are off. There is some hint of a transfer going on rn off the nc/va coast. Still 9 degrees btw.

My guess is probably a snow/sleet mix for a while this evening but maybe never goes over to fully sustained sleet north of I80/Cross Bronx/far north shore LI.

Over on the UES it’s, like, actually pretty for the first time in years. Lots of blowing around but looks like 4-5 inches? Realized this morning that I couldn’t remember the last time I heard snowplows going by because I couldn’t remember the last time we actually had covered streets!

Winterweatherlover
Just now, EastonSN+ said: I am shocked on how fast its moving lol. I'm not really, we almost always ping earlier than expected but then it'll probably flip back and forth between sleet and snow for a while in the city/LI and immediate burbs and may not even flip fully to sustained sleet at all north of the city.
