Holston_River_Rambler
This morning I found a temp of 13 in Union City and a 61 in Townsend. Nearly a 50 degree spread across the state.
fountainguy97
We dodged a major bullet across Unicoi county last night. Much warmer than modeled. (The CAD downsloping fingers never really helped much). Most of my glaze is gone. But I've had several wind gusts at 30mph this morning and my Davis is fairly well protected from this direction of wind. It's ripping.

Exactly. Doing the same. Also cooking bacon eggs biscuits and 2 packs of chicken and 2 packs of steaks so we’ve got something cooked already. Charcoal and propane grills ready just in case

Yeah, not as drastic but Tellico was 51 when I left for work, Madisonville was 33 when I got there.

bearman
Here in West Knoxville we still have 32 and rain. All our Ice is still on the trees. The Temperature has been very stubborn refusing to rise. I am sure we are about to go up anytime.
bearman
Wow, I am shocked at the Temps in NC. Charlotte has 18 degrees and freezing rain. They are going to be devastated. I guess this storm is going to be one of the worst storms the US has seen on scale.

We are in sudden melt mode.
tnweathernut
The biggest story will likely be the power losses and frigid cold that follows. It’s unfortunate to sit here and know many in the power loss areas won’t be prepared. With SO many outages across multiple states, it will stretch the massive resources that were called to be ready. God bless these linemen…. 7

Jeff Co Vol
I'm blessed to have been spared the worst of this storm in Jefferson County, at least so far. My prayers are with all of you who are experiencing ice, power outages, falling trees and other issues.

Wurbus
Still 32 here in Knoxville. Temps are wild to our south. New Orlsans is sitting at 71 and Baton Rouge is 33 currently.
Greyhound
32 here in Fountain City/Knoxville. Heavy rain washing away the mixed bag of donuts we received yesterday. Yard is just pure slop. The bigger story is the level of pouting from our two 90# dogs who don’t understand why they cant go outside and play. If they had thumbs, and could use a cell phone, I have no doubt we would have already been turned in to PETA/ASPCA. 1
Holston_River_Rambler
Power has returned to MBY! Hopefully other areas are as quick as possible. 5
bearman
These temps in the valley are strange. Heavy rain started here at the house, and we had the temp go up, and now it is back down to freezing.
1234snow
Power went out here at 5:30. Not sure on how much ice accumulation but it was between .25 and .5 if i were a betting man.

bearman
We in Knoxville are sitting around freezing or just above and because of CAD Augusta Ga has snow and sleet. This storm is really powerful.
ShawnEastTN
I went to bed really late last night, just getting up and I'm stunned that it's still freezing rain and 32. This is insane, but kind of the way I tend to think of ice storms, they are stubborn. I half expected it to be tropical this morning from some of the models.Sent from my Pixel 10 Pro XL using Tapatalk
bearman
That Trowel that you are showing will be moving NE and by the time we get air cold enough to produce snow it should be well north-east of us, correct? I have just about enough meteorological knowledge to make me dangerous.

ShawnEastTN
A lot of new power outages in Rhea, Meigs and Cumberland Volunteer Energy counties this morning, I'm really concerned about wind picking up today. If we can't get above freezing.Sent from my Pixel 10 Pro XL using Tapatalk
AMZ8990
Roads in west Tennessee are about as bad as I’ve ever seen them. Snow, sleet and ice have heavily impacted the area. Folks along the Mississippi/Tennessee border look to have the worst ice damage. Reports of power outages across the county in different rural areas. Saw some info come out of Oxford Mississippi and it looks like they got the brunt of the ice storm, Holly springs area as well was hit pretty bad with ice. That 2nd wave came through last night and doubled sleet totals with some snow mixed in. Probably have .20-.30 ice accumulation where I’m at north west of Bolivar with
