apparently there was some thunderZR at 27F near Charlotte. heavy sleet here in NW Philly, currently 19F. still some huge disagreement on how high the temps get this evening, I've seen everything from 24 to 35 in various models/forecasts...we'll see what verifies

HEAVY sleet here in Whitehall

Still mostly snow here south of blue mountain ski resort. Bigger flakes than earlier though.

Looking like you should flip back to snow soon.

Did some fooling around with the weathermodels.com stuff and found this (it was definitely what the NAM has shown for a couple days in a row) -

Other radars I looked at not capturing the sleet and ice change good as that one

Sleet/Snow mix in Bushkill Township. 7.3F all day. Temp hasn't really budged. Had to switch to oil heat as the AC/Heat unit was getting iced up. Hard to tell how much snow fell with the drifting. Maybe 7-8 inches.

what drifting?  LOL

NAM nailed the warm nose but was not even close with modeling precip in the initial thump. last NAM snow maps I saw had Philly at 4.5" total snow and sleet and like 0.65 liquid equivalent which was way too low and dry

You don't have wind?

Just kidding. I was criticized a few days of this threat and many  posters said i was off my rocker that this was not going to be a problem. They will find out the hard way tommorow evening when the blowing snow may keep the schools closed Tuesday  too.

The good thing about the sleet is that it has stopped the blowing snow off the roofs etc, but i would rather it go back to snow:guitar:

Snow blowing off rooftops is scenic and part of the winter experience. Now I have another reason to hate sleet...

13F/sleet
