Snow mixing back in now. The lake effect squall forecast on the HRRR looks impressive this afternoon. Should rip for a couple of hours.

Nice fatties with the band. Too bad for me it’ll move away quickly but hope you are able to cash a few inches!

Totals mostly in the 4-6” range, even to our north. I think this is mostly because ratios were around 9:1 according to MPX. If we were in the 12:1 or 15:1 range we would have seen some of those higher totals verify. I think there ended up being a much bigger lull after that initial wave than the models showed.

.

The ratio of whatever fell IMBY is like 4:1. It’s 2.5” but it weighs the same as a dry 8”.  Some plain old rain mixed in too.

As expected was gross here. Started with 2" of snow then turned to rain for several hours. With dews above freezing for nearly 12 hours, we lost more snow than we gained. Freezing up now.

I only eyeballed it, but we probably snagged 4 inches last night. Only drizzled for maybe 2 hours and then back to snow.

There's probably 8 inches outside.

I think it did snow around 4” total here.  It just shrank back down to 2.5 or 3 from raining on top.  The plow piles are significant and it was heavy to move.  Not much depth added, but weight was added.

I woke up late and glimpsed at the radar it looked like an MCS rolling through with a 40+ dbz bright band at ground level, lol.  Those big wet slush flakes definitely added water content even at 33 degrees.  It didn’t stack much but it didn’t melt much either.

We peaked at 5-6" depth pre dawn yesterday and have 3-4" left. Theres a few grass patches in the usual places (trees by Salt splashed roadsides) but the snow is frozen solid.

as per the norm, areas out in the hills reporting 6 inches, while we get half that here on east side.

I can confirm!

This was definitely a setup where you’d wanna be in the hills >1000 feet, the difference it makes in snowfall totals is crazy imo, especially when you compare seasonal snowfall totals at DTW to the NWS in White Lake.
