All systems go! really starting to come down here. I overstated earlier w/ Cash. I was at 3", but now am 4" and mod/heavy rates picking up. once pingers start this afternoon, that will make for some fantastic snowmobing. 2 sleds out back are ready, and 1 in garage gettin final tweaks. Come on over if ya wanna rip around w/ me.

IF we can hang on (as Horst stated) for 4-6 more hours before we filp in Lanco, I'll be 100% happy with this event. Who am I kiddin....... I've been 100% happy for days leading up. Seeing it land safely on our yards, is the icing on a fanfukintastic snow cake.

Also I don't think I'll be sleet at 11am like the nam last night depiction Sent from my SM-S731U using Tapatalk

Tears up carbides (stainless steel/carbide runners) on bottom of skis. When pingers pile up, it creates that needed base for you to "stay up/float" on top of snow (but not too much snow). Its as you an I often call it the "densifier". As i actually have about 1.5" ish inches stil otg from last week i'd be fine, but in areas that have lost snow (etown/mt. joy was bare as of friday), the sleet will make the riding super fun, now if it gets too deep, then sleet, it gets challenging as you are now "floating" or carving through the snow. if we get 6-8 then 1-2" of sleet, it will be f'in amazing riding.
pasnownut
huh...how'd i miss this. my grids didnt update but i like the sexy talk anyway. Enjoy all Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service State College PA 717 AM EST Sun Jan 25 2026 .WHAT HAS CHANGED... * Winter Storm Warnings remain in effect through 1 PM Monday with significant snowfall expected across all of central Pennsylvania. * Increased snowfall totals across much of the area due to higher confidence in a band of heavier snow occurring across north-central Pennsylvania. * Updated precipitation types across the southern tier of Pennsylvania to account for more snowfall, still some sleet/freezing rain mentions retained.

GrandmasterB
Looks like very heavy returns just to our southwest and inbound. If that is all snow, I think we’ll make a run to double digits even in the southern tier.
CarlislePaWx
At 9:00am here in Carlisle it is snowing moderately to occasionally heavily. Fine flakes for the most part. The temperature is now 9.9 degrees. During the past hour I recorded an additional 1.0 inches of snow, bringing my storm total to 4.5". My NWS point forecast took on a somewhat negative tone, bringing in sleet at 3:00pm and continuing until 11:00pm. This seems to go against what the models were showing when Bliz posted back around 7:00am. Regardless, it does look beautiful out there, and I cannot believe it's snowing like this with a temperature of 9.9 degrees!
