How do they compare with sardines? I like sardines minus the heads. The chickens get those.

Much better actually i think, I eat both, Cut the bodies, Cut off the heads clean and rinse, Recipe is simple for these, 2 tbl spoons Salt, 1c Flour, I place them in a zip lock, Shake them up and fry them in cooking oil, It makes them crispy, Supermarkets or fish mkts up here will carry them in season too.

MHT closed out Dec -6.1F/17.9" snow. CON -5.2F/12.7" snow.

MHT seems total seems little high but they have an on-site observer last I knew. Respectable month though for SNH despite the missed opportunities.

ORH was -4.8. Coldest since 2017. 2nd coldest (only behind 2017) since the frigid December 2000.

12.3” of snow was slightly BN. Respectable month but would’ve been better if we hit on another moderate event. Snow cover was good though. I think something like 25/31 days with cover.

2.5”/0.02” on 12/24 is a little sus.

It was pretty much consistent low/mid grade cold the entire month. The first week was higher end anomaly wise, but being on the front bookend obviously made the actual values less extreme in terms of DJF.

The min for the month here was only -1°. Looking ahead, there’s a good chance that min holds right to the climo min around 1/20.

Yeah if i recall most of the obs locally were 3-4" in that one. That 2.5" would put them over 5" for that event.

My parents are in the north end near ydc. My dad estimated 2-3” from that. I wonder if the observer had .25 instead of 2.5. That would match up better with the MHT 0.02” QPF.

I had 4.5” in that, ~10 miles NW of there, sitting at 16.5” on the season
