I’m going to go stand there when we hit -41 in December. 

The village did go subzero 20x last DJFM. Interestingly, the coldest day overall was 12/22/24 with an avg temp of -2.1.

Correct, but that doesn’t necessarily mean anything for us. This could just as easily benefit Europe. But something to watch for sure

I’m a little late on my end with this posting but man the turbulence coming in to providence airport early tues morning was just something else. We were already coming off a nearly 6 hour delay and wondering if we would even get home and that front meant business, just before landing. That sudden sinking feeling always sends shivers down my spine lol. Back to our chilly and windy reality for a while..heck of a time though seeing my crazy fam!

I can’t figure out what the Euro has been doing up here for two days, but it keeps putting some decent QPF overhead.  Weirdly stable run to run.

It looks like a standing wave or something.

Past three runs… something to get Ray excited about.

Look at all this snow I’m going to get over the next few days . It’s hard to believe but it’s coming and I am excited . It’s satisfying knowing I live in a place that gets this much snow and I have to let you all know

Had flurries on and off all day, now steady light snow. First plow of the season on my driveway today! Interesting to see how warm the ground still is though, some of the snow was melting from below - especially in some spots.

I did genuinely wonder about the past 4-6 runs of the Euro with that bullseye of QPF.  I haven't seen that before.

Usually it looks like the GFS with the more spread out north-south band.

Which BTW, I don't know what they did the GFS but this model has gone grossly overboard with upslope QPF so far this fall.  Like this is obscene and not happening given the set-up.

I'm not sure what happened but the GFS just goes way overboard now.

I never thought he was a particularly good MET(and maybe he was, and it was just me?), and didn’t watch WTNH much, but when I did(to compare when big storms were coming), I did like his enthusiasm, and his personality.

Its forecast for Melissa was one of the worst I’ve ever seen for a “top tier” model.

Wait til there’s a bonafide winter threat on the table for SNE…we’ll have to wait until an hour before go time, before we have a handle on what may unfold. Seems like that’s the trend the last several years. We’re going backwards it seems.

Euro and GFS has been weird for sure. Maybe it’s just that once you tweak one thing you “break” another? We don’t care if it’s more accurate in the South China Sea if it can’t handle confluence over us. I’m sure the European weenies feel the same way about us lol.

In the tropical space though HAFS has been outstanding on intensity and the AI stuff has shown promise. In the Atlantic at least…
