I have some wind, but I'm typically protected on the leeward side of my mountain during nwf. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk Yeah...can't say I don't have wind issues. LOL. I'm slightly exposed to the NW wind thinning things out. LOL
Hvward Posted yesterday at 02:10 AM Share Posted yesterday at 02:10 AM Looks like around an inch so far here. It’s so wind blown it’s hard to tell. Lots of people stuck on the interstate tonight… not a good situation.
SnowDawg Posted yesterday at 02:16 AM Share Posted yesterday at 02:16 AM Very impressive NW flow event. Solid measurable snow county wide here, with 1-2 inches in the usual spots in the North and West parts of the county. Early season snow day for the kiddos tomorrow.

I'm on Beech higher up and you just about always have higher totals and colder temps. Nuts. Perfect location!!! Makes me think about looking in your area. I'm at 13 as of 8pm and about 3 inches. Wow! I have 7.5 inches (at least) and drifts to 15 inches at my house in the Roan highlands. I am just under 3800 feet in elevation but we do well in NW flow. its still absolutely ripping.
calculus1 Posted yesterday at 04:36 AM Share Posted yesterday at 04:36 AM Snowing really good in Cullowhee at WCU right now. I’ve been FaceTiming with my daughter there. She was letting me vicariously enjoy a Jeb walk as she walked around campus. It’s been coming down really well for the past couple of hours there. A truly beautiful early season gift for that community, and Cullowhee doesn’t tend to get big snows being down in the valley like they are. It’s amazing the joy that crystallized water falling out of the sky can bring…
The Alchemist Posted yesterday at 05:13 AM Share Posted yesterday at 05:13 AM Even had a burst of moderate snow down here in Saluda about 4 hours ago. Nice little car topper. Down to 25 now. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Met1985 Posted yesterday at 10:19 AM Share Posted yesterday at 10:19 AM Just went out and measured. I've got 4.5 inches of snow and it's windy with a temp of 17 degrees. Freaking amazing start to the season.

Maggie Valley Steve Posted yesterday at 12:04 PM Share Posted yesterday at 12:04 PM 17 and near 3.5 inches measured. The wind howled here during the night, so the driveway is blown almost clean except for a sheet of ice.
SUNYGRAD Posted yesterday at 01:49 PM Share Posted yesterday at 01:49 PM Decent snow cover for any time of the winter season, but for early mid-November is pretty cool.

calculus1 Posted yesterday at 02:05 PM Share Posted yesterday at 02:05 PM My in-laws measured a bit over 1 inch in Black Mountain. They must be at lower elevations (near Owen HS) than wherever @Hvward has his home.

chris21
Northern lights are amazing tonight! Side note, sudden crazy winds out of seemingly multiple directions and a casual 20 degree temp rise in fifteen minutes! Honest to God snow rollers all over my yard lol! Natures snowballs.

WeatherHawk
Had about 1.5" on the East Side of Elk Knob SP, about 7 miles North of Boone. Hard to tell from all the winds, lows were down around 17 over Monday night. Looking forward to a great winter with the crew on here! Best wishes folks!
