Lava Rock
no severe storms at all, perhaps the new norm? SNE, not speaking for NNE. also no cold fronts, just very weak boundaries. Perhaps Septorcher we'll see a severe storm or two when an actual front arrivesUp until couple years ago, there was a 3yr stretch where we just didn't get any storms. Last summer was decent. This year, back to meh. Sent from my SM-S921U using Tapatalk

So far this warm season, we had one strike within 3 miles in May but no others within 5 miles. Only 4 days with any thunder so far, lowest thru this date since we moved here in 1998. The past 2 weeks have given us 0.03" RA and the Sandy River flow is below the 10th percentile.

dendrite
It’s been a bit of a dirty ridge south of here with some E flow right down into the Mid Atlantic. The smoke has helped keep a lid on max temps as well. CON is -2.5F through 8/7. With the normals I grew up with it would’ve been -0.2F in the 1990s.
dendrite
The sun has lacked bite over the past week from the smoke. It almost feels like a week long partial solar eclipse.

Typhoon Tip
There's liable to be sea-breezes into eastern MA and coastal CNE with that synopsis today. It'll keep temps down, so using Logan for real world experience is probably a dumb idea. Later in the day, this could possibly gathered enough mass to sneak a low level cooling west to a termination somewhere near an Ayer - Worcester position.. Not certain though because tho the look for that is in place, even the higher res suppress a wavy breeze boundary from moving W. Prior to that the highs should make the low or mid 80s. CoastalWx
Finally, no smoke. And about right as we warm up and start shifting the air mass around. Fuck the COC.

CoastalWx
2 minutes ago, Pennfisherman said: Feels terrible to ask this and there are going to be some great responses.... what's COC? It’s abbreviated for Chamber of Commerce. There are certain individuals who think smoke filled skies, lung hacking, and sweatshirts in the middle of summer as Chamber of Commerce. It’s silly because our summers are basically the Mid Atlantic now so Chamber Of Commerce or COC is really bathing suites, jet skis, and a rum punch in hand.
