Maybe a nice day for a big hike, or for KDX to do some tree murder, but that's about it. Good thing the HHH returns for the weekend. Can confirm. Just horrible out here. Summit dipped into the 30s for the first time of the season this morning.

KakashiHatake2000
just gotta go and always make sure to check and by that i mean everywhere i think they could get it by walking in tall grass in the woods places like that i believe i might have to look it up and see actually Tick Bite Sources Ticks can be found in various outdoor environments, but they are most commonly encountered in specific habitats. They thrive in wooded, grassy, brushy, or shaded areas with high humidity, such as tall grass, leaf litter, shrubs, and underbrush, where they can easily attach to passing hosts. While they are often associated with forests and rural trails, ticks can also be present in urban parks, gardens, and even yards, particularly in areas with dense vegetation, leaf litter, or where wildlife like deer and rodents are present. Although ticks are less likely to survive in open, dry, and sunny areas like mowed lawns, they can still be found in unmown, humid, and shady spots within yards. Therefore, while ticks are not found everywhere outside, they are widespread in environments that provide the moisture and cover they need to survive and feed. Ticks are commonly found in wooded areas, low-growing grasslands, and yards, especially in shaded and humid spots. They are attracted to areas with wildlife such as deer, squirrels, and birds, which serve as hosts. Ticks do not fly or jump; they climb onto hosts as they brush past vegetation. Areas with tall grass, weeds, and leaf litter are prime locations for ticks. Ticks can also be brought into homes on clothing or pets after outdoor activities. Not sure I'd be rooting it on if I had one. Floated up the Spurwink river (Higgins Beach) on the incoming tide Saturday. The water at the mouth (beach) had to be 72°F, and potentially as high as 74+°F in the shallower parts upstream. That is boiling by our standards. Anyway, RIP to those temps. 72/43 full sun.

Did Morgarbage’s teeet a couple of weeks ago hit too close to home for you? I don’t get it. HoarfrostHubb
Sadly there is no current Lyme vaccine. There was one that was discontinued in the early 2000s due to the manufacturer citing low demand. A new one is in clinical trials I believe. kind of shocked how I’ve never knowingly had it. I’m in the woods a bunch.

KakashiHatake2000
thankfully there are antibiotics that you can take at least despite there not being a lymes disease vaccine out yet i kind of wish that one from the early 2000s could be brought back even though low demand
