Nice round of anvil rains this morning.  2-day total up to 0.64".  Getting closer to the 5" mark for July.

Ended up hitting 90 for the 3rd day in a row this week. First heatwave since right after the 4th of July weekend.

After hitting the QC with heavy downpours, the once robust cluster of storms has quickly transformed to (you guessed it) anvil rains on final approach.  This is all bonus anyway as I didn't really think we'd get anything after the morning stuff departed.

I have spent many days hoping for an insane CAPE measurement in the northern Midwest. Looks like we got a confirmed 6000 J/kg in Aberdeen South Dakota

It appears the 80º dew point will be back Monday.  50s and 60s dp will surge into the region later in the week.  That'll feel good.

That's going to feel amazing after a nearly 2 week streak of 70-80 degree dews.

Its been a bit of a cloudy weekend but it cleared early this aft, humidity in control. A very rare 10-day from WUN showing mostly sunny the whole way through!!

I checked a 10-day I saved from Jul 16 and found that it correctly predicted the storm I had Thurs 8 days out. Even the exact amount of rain (9mm)!! I was a bit higher for temps at 33C with DP at 27C. Low was .7C off from recorded.

Stms didn't form around here yesterday. But the lower humidity this morning feels really nice.

As expected, the big storms up in southern Minnesota raced south across Iowa overnight and fell apart.  We got some moderate wind, but very little rain (0.20).  The initial line was almost dry.  It looks like tonight may be a repeat, with storms falling apart as they dive southeastward.

We haven't gotten a lot of rain over the last week, but frequent small rains are keeping it moist.  The lawns are growing like crazy.  I have to mow every three days.

Stuck at 80 with all the debris clouds, even with the Heat Advisory in effect today. No way we're going to top 90 or even the upper 80s. NWS might as well just cancel the Heat Advisory today.

Dropped to 78. Heat Advisory not cancelled yet, but now extended through tomorrow. Heat Advisory still in effect today is just too much hype.
