Even when using the avarage max it was still in the top 10 for warmth.

That matches my experience.

Is this a total of June and July... I thought your other chart was better the one that showed the temperatures starting with the summer solstice (because that's around the time our heat began, the first half of June was cool and rainy)

There were many above average highs which boosted the average. But the 90° day count was much lower last year. Many 85°+ days helped to boost the average high. But 2010 stands alone for 90° days from June 1st through July 28th.

The Hillsborough  Duke station has apparently  malfunctioned  and not available..what a day to do it

Yup. Can confirm. The sensor crapped out during maintenance this morning. So it'll be down for a while while awaiting a new sensor to be prepared. Sigh.

Temps on Friday are probably gonna stay around 70 due to the clouds and NE winds. That is going to be quite a shock after this tremendous heat wave.

The GFS has temps in the upper 50s in some places at 2PM:

Did the 90 degree highs slow down after July in 2010? I recall August and September being very hot too, with 95+ degrees even in September.

thanks, this really puts 2025 on par with other very hot summers. 2010 beat all the records from 1983.

Yeah, they usually slowed down in August except for years like 2005.
