I don't know what's going on over there, but my sensor peaked over 103 twice (103.8 and 103.3) and hasn't been back there since lol.  Consistently over 101 though.

It shows 104.9 now, so it came back down a bit, still higher than all surrounding stations

Now imagine this for 3-4 months straight, and that’s what TX is like in the summer. You have to be some kind of nut job to like being in that.

Don't you get acclimated to it?  I did after a couple of years in S FL for college.

Mine just peaked over 103 again, this time at 103.1

I love tracking very quick temperature differences, I don't think my sensor is running hot because it's been bouncing back and forth between 99 and 104 since noon lol.

I wonder what causes the drops down to 99-- there are zero clouds in the sky and it's a deep blue sky (the bluest sky and first time I've gone over 100 without any clouds at all.)

It's only good if you get it like one time a year lol

It's like that with snow too, I dont want 30 inch snowstorms more than once a winter.

Looks like JFK is up to 102F at the top of the hour, smashing the prior June monthly record of 99F, and matching the third highest ever recorded behind 104 (7/3/1966) & 103 (7/22/2011).

Yes, it's the second highest temperature for me, 103.8, only 7/22/2011 was hotter at 105.6

102 has happened a few times at JFK, off the top of my head I know it hit 102 there on 7/5/1999

JFK about to flip SW I think.  The station in Valley Stream went S as well as one in southern Brooklyn.  JFK is now more like 290-300

2 pm changeover time at JFK on the hourlies might have been accurate.

The temperature spike beforehand was a telltale sign.

Incidentally it's still 102 here lol

Based on radar and the fact the ASOS is on the SE end of the airport I think, the seabreeze is right about there. It’s up to maybe Merrick Rd.

Those of you who called the compressional heating (and throw in a little downsloping) good call.

Northern Queens has been basically stuck in the upper 90s for the most part while everyone central Queens south has made it to the low 100s.

Yesterday felt more intense to me, this is honestly tolerable. I’ll take today over the cloudy grey slop regime we just got out of.
