I can’t imagine living there and not being near the water.  Strong hell no to interior Florida.

We checked out the Villages, several of our friends moved there, in the winter it's great down there, so we went in the summer to get a feel for the heat, no way, too freaking hot and humid. Decided on Maine instead.

Have some really weird bug bite or something on the bottom of my leg. When I came back from Wachusett the other day and got in the shower, I noticed a few small red bumps on my leg and two of them had a tiny black dot on them. They were way too small to be ticks though, but the one on the bottom of my leg has increased in sized a bit and is really dark red…even looks like it has a bit of black. Weird

Interior FL is a hellhole. Gulf Coast Tampa-south is amazing. You need some air movement with the continuous 75-80+ dews and mins.

I’m seeing 101 heat index in Tampa right now. Hard pass.

I’m happy with HI below 85.

Today is perfect.

Does your health insurance provide telemed service?

Deer tick nymphs are pretty small. Could also be black fly bites.

I mean, lots of possibilities with that. If you’re worried check with your doctor. Also, make a paste with baking soda and vinegar and smear it on.

Yeah I’m not sure what to think and whether I should be concerned. I wasn’t walking in any grassy/forested areas…it was generally concrete. When we were leaving there were a few bugs flying around my leg there so maybe I had got something and the little black dot was a part of it. But for all I know these could have happened from home lol.

Did you notice any "Ticks Please Stay Off the Concrete" signs around? ....have it checked for peace of mind

Yeah that's cool visiting in winter like I said. Idk about doing the parks in July. That sounds rough...I haven't been to the parks since I was kid in the early 2000s. Nice, looking forward to more comfortable weather when I get home Tuesday.

its really not bad all... most places have ac that you walk into and most lines have strong fans with water misting out

Again, who knows but tick bites definitely tend to be a brighter red than that one.
I’ve had and seen many over the years.

Yeah I dont know. I have had spider bites get infected and they looked similar. A particularly bad one had a large 7-8" ring with a center that looked similar.

Yeah this is brutal. Little Rock was even worse July '22. I think Arkansas is the worst overlay of actual air temp with humidity in the country.

Now this is a watch

IMG_1740.png

I saw this and panicked a little, as a lot of my family is in Oklahoma still but thankfully not the SW part of the state. I still follow a meteorologist from the state on FB and yesterday he posted the worst stuff should be to the south so this tracks.

Looks like the tornado warning in the NW corner of the TX panhandle is an active tornado. Seeing lots of active tornadoes in these storms this year.

It's been quite an active start to the season this year...I'm not sure if it's like top 5 but its been on the active side.

I know 2 couples who have just bought places in The Villages. I can’t think of a worse spot in FL, well maybe in the deep interior panhandle.

What has this world come to with our most fervent, Heat hating cold supporter talking like this?
